There is also a smaller parking area a little further (400m or so from the road) where the trail splits - this second area is the usual meeting point. If you end up driving up a steep hill you've gone too far.

The Sydney Spring Fat Tyre Festival presented by JP Morgan and Kona is an exciting one day mountain bike race being held at Ourimbah State Forest approximately 100km north from the heart of the Sydney CBD.

Ourimbah has been well known for its cross country track and downhill courses for some time, and thanks to the efforts of the Central Coast Ourimbah MTB Club the trails are looking better than ever.

Just a few leisurely paced laps to fill in the time while the wife is in Tuggerah. What more excuse do you need Smiling

Easy Sunday Tour Of The Dam - Cancelled Too Wet.

When:
Sunday, 31 August, 2008 - 08:30
Ride Database Entry:
Manly Dam
Meeting Point:

King Street (near corner with Arana Street), Manly Vale. You know - outside Manly Hydraulics Lab.

-33.781501, 151.258115 (Manly Hydraulics Lab)

I am planning on doing 2 laps of the Dam on Sunday morning.

This will be a social paced ride with a few stops to have a look at some of the fun parts like the steps etc. I will probably do the standard lap of the dam first followed by a second lap with a detour of some of the extra legal bits on the other side of wakehurst parkway.

Anyone and everyone is welcome the pace will be determined by who turns up this is not a training ride so expect to stop and look at the scenery a little.

One week before the Angry Doctor, so aiming to have a semi-hard (way-hey!) ride, perhaps 4 laps of the main XC loop to get some sniggle skills practice and then perhaps an explore or some unknown (to me) trails, and/or some downhill fun.

The weather looks a little undecided coming up the weekend at the moment but the track does deal with the wet quite well (the grave yard is still off limits I believe making the lap less than 10km's). That said we will need to get a better idea before heading out.

If anyone wants to do a bit more than the social ride but doesn't want to join the 'Roids on their 'antisocial' ride (or can't because they're at the group size limit), I'm doing a non stop medium paced lap of Long/Perimeter tracks before joining up with the social ride, wherever I bump into them on the way back, for a second (more socially paced) lap.

corner aumuna road and mona vale road, terrey hills

This will be a easy spin just to keep the legs going. As this is the last weekend before the Angry Doctor I will be taking it easy. This will not be a training paced ride.

Plan is to do sniggle into Duck Holes, then Centre, Perimeter and Long Tracks.

We can keep the stops on the trail at a minimum and then go to the Tavern for lunch and a beer Smiling
