Sunday - World Cup - car convoy to Canberra
Uriarra Road, just up from the Uriarra Road/Coppins Crossing Road turnoff.
Hi all,
** NOTE - NOW LEAVING AT 6:00 am TO ENSURE ENOUGH EATING TIME AND STILL BE AT STROMLO IN TIME **
I will be driving down to Stromlo this Sunday to watch Sam Hill and Nathan Rennie smash the competition. I would be leaving Cremorne quite early, about 6:30 a.m. to be there in time to watch the downhill semis at 10:30.
If anyone else was interested in doing the trip, or eating brekky on the way, please put down your name and we can car convoy down there and turn up together. I need the friends.
Bring your cow bells!
See you out there.
Liam.
Anti-social Night Ride
Terrey Hills Tavern
To compliment the social ride here's the more serious one.
You know the drill, we will start from the Tavern and ride Duck Hole + Centre + Perimeter + Long and back to Tavern.
This is a training ride and you should expect to only unclip once the whole ride - at the North end of Centre Track.
We may or may not slow down if/when the social group is met - either way, at least we can get social with them afterwards at the Tavern.
TUESDAY SOCIAL Night ride [Perimeter & Long trail]
Terry Hills Tavern, eastern carpark, Aumuna Rd, Terrey Hills, NSW 2084
TUESDAY Night ride - Perimeter & Long trail (Everyone welcome - suitable for newbies, too)
Come along and GET FIT FOR SPRING: 1 lap for the social set, 2 or more for faster riders...
Naturally we'll have a cleansing ale at the Tavern (Training HQ's) afterwards.
See you on Tuesday...
Rgds, Hans
Sunday Arvo Training Ride [Terrey Hills]
Starting near the Japanese School (off Booralie Rd, at the corner Echunga / Durunbil Rd) to avoid any muddy bits...Easy to find - just look for the carpark at the end of Echunga Rd)
The sun is back today - finally! Only 2 weeks to the Angry Doctor race - last chance for some training!
I'm going for a spontaneous Terrey Hills training ride on Sunday arvo, starting from the Japanese School on Booralie Rd (Terrey Hills) ~ 2 PM. Riding Perimeter Trail & Long Trail (approx 20 km's return). If we feel up to it, we might do 2 laps / extended version.
According to the NoBMob weather maps the track appears to be RELATIVELY DRY and un-affected by recent rains.
SMS or call me on 0408-123680 if you need more info.
Rgds Hans
Apping Sunday Morning Training Ride?
Corner Burke & Market St, Appin. There's a small parking area here at the trail head. If lost ask local for the fire station and Scout Hall.
Proposing 3 laps of approx 10km each. For some 2 might be enough. Training ride at medium pace. Quick stops at end of each lap to refuel. Fairly technical in places so some experience is required. Awesome track with "no boring bits".
Late notice leave pass so sorry for late posting.
String
Afternoon Lap
King Street (near corner with Arana Street), Manly Vale. You know - outside Manly Hydraulics Lab.
Just a lap around the dam. I will aim for 2 laps but this is dependant on the weather (ie. begins to rain). The weather is supposed to be clearing tomorrow (sunday) so it shouldn't be a problem. According to the rangers, the track is open and the dam hasn't received much rain over the past couple of days. Keen for anyone to join up for 1 or 2 laps.
If Open and not to wet - Manly Dam - 2 or 3 laps
I am looking at doing 2 or 3 laps without intended stopping other then tackling some problems or practicing skills tomorrow. Social ride but like to get those legs working hard.
I have a 07 Reign 1 and will be at the Hydraulics at 9.30 if is not raining and it doesn't rain to much tonight;
Weather forecast is:
Forecast for Saturday
Just a brief shower or two, more likely around the middle of the day. Fresh southwest to southerly winds, strong and gusty nearer the coast, easing in the evening.
Precis: Brief shower or two. Windy.
An Early Lap
A few people have expressed intrest in my early lap before meeting up with the main ride so here it is.
I am riding to the dam with Gavin and should be there in time to start at 6.15pm if you dont see us by 6.20 start without us and we will catch up. This lap will be a medium pace and will be the standard loop with the aim of getting around in time to meet up with the main ride there wont be any stopping except maybe to have a quick look at the new section.
Capertee Challenge
The Capertee Challenge is back on! Stunning scenery, great trails!
Use your Mogo-trained legs to take on this great race through the worlds second largest enclosed valley!

The course is set in the Capertee Valley, 180 kilometres west of Sydney , Australia, in a stunning area comprised of sandstone cliffs and abundant wildlife. There are some easy and some difficult sections on the course.

This is now 'locked in'
We will leave early Saturday morning (7am) and return Sunday night (9pm).
Bring your bike! for a ride Saturday morning. Majura Pines is an option, but there are also tracks next to the event that can be ridden. (might be a good option for people wanting to watch the XC)
