Mountain (off road)
Social Ride At Manly In The Dark
King Street (near corner with Arana Street), Manly Vale. You know - outside Manly Hydraulics Lab.
A social paced lap of Manly at night this is a mountain bike ride with some nice technical challenges especially at night this outing is not for beginners even at the slower social pace keep in mind that Terry Hills might be a better ride for you if your skills are not quite there yet. The pace will be social anyone wanting a harder hit out should arrive for the earlier fast lap with no stops.
Bring along a beer or in my case a Ginger beer for the usual after ride analysis and chat.
SOCIAL Night Ride [@ Terrey Hills]
Terrey Hills Tavern, eastern carpark, Aumuna Rd, Terrey Hills, NSW 2084
Social night ride - Perimeter & Long Trail
Stretch your legs - spring is here!
Naturally we'll have a cleansing ale at the Tavern afterwards.
[Everyone welcome - suitable for newbies, too!]
See you on Wednesday...

Single track training
Hazelbrook train station carpark on Railway parade, near Higgs place.
This is planned to be fairly constant single track riding to practice your skills, improve your fitness and have a bunch of fun before the 24 hour and the Fling, both of these races have heaps of great single track so you owe it to yourself to get out there. The pace is planned to be medium to quick and as always we'll will wait at the next corner or top of hill to regroup. If you are unfit this ride is unsuitable. We will be doing mostly single track but throwing a bit of technical climbing and descent.
Lithgow explore
Valley Drive, Lithgow
Who's up for a good 'ol explore of the technical riding around Hassans Wall and also the Donnybrook downhill trail at Lithgow?
The ride will be of the more technical in nature. Although my description of "downhill" is a little off - they are not actually a downhill race track at all... but in fact are excellent fun as you blast down a long and flowing technical trail. There are some fun bits to stop and play on along the way. It is some of the best trails I have ever ridden.
Massive Northern Beaches Ride 2008
Jamieson Park, off The Esplanade, on the southern shore of Narrabeen Lake
It's been more than a year, and I get asked a lot about setting up another "Massive Northern Beaches Ride". So here it is, back again, bigger and brighter for 2008. An EPIC if there ever was one. And it even comes in 1 week ahead of the Fling, so represents a great opportunity to put in about 60km on your local trails beforehand.
AWABA
AWABA, I've never been there so if someone has good directions?
This site has a pdf to download for directions

Going to go and check this one out. Its been on the list for a while now. Was going to be sunday but apparently they have a race on.
Saturday at Manly Dam
King Street (near corner with Arana Street), Manly Vale. You know - outside Manly Hydraulics Lab.
Greetings!
I will be doing a couple of fast laps around the Dam early on Saturday morning. If anyone else wanted the hit out, please come along. My intended riding speed will be fairly fast, but with most of the typical stops along the way for a drink. And maybe a small bit of playtime on the bumpy bits. Given this, the ride would probably not be suitable for newbies.
If you don't recognise me, I will be the one in the blue Mazda2.
See you there.
Pre-social ride for Wednesday Night Double Helpings.
Terrey Hills Tavern - usual spot (or in the far right hand corner of the main car park if you're not usual).
Perimeter & Long tracks. "Brisk" pace (that means medium speed-22km in 1 & 1/4 hrs, no stops except for mechanicals, injuries and, OK, widdles. But you should have gone before you left the house!)
Back to the tavern carpark to link up with the social set and join their ride.
Pub afterwards for a cleansing apple juice and bag of pork scratchings.
Fling training ride at Wisemans Ferry
Wisemans Ferry - by the East ferry crossing (turn right bottom of the hill). There is a good parking area by the kiosk here.
A long ride in preparation for the Southern Highland Fling leaving 2 weeks to recover before the Scott 24 hour. I had in mind a 70 to 80k ride starting at wisemans ferry then up the sandy hill and continuing 35k along Gt Northern Road. Then turn back and go down Shepherds Gully and finish ourselves of on the 8k road back to the ferry.
This is a training ride so minimal stops but the pace will not be race pace. A moderate pace to average about 15kms / hour is ideal.
Bring heaps of food and water and a spare tube and everything else required for big a day out.
Wed night social Terry Hills ride
Terry Hills Tavern
An easy wander around Duck holes and centre tracks, also happy to throw in Watatah on the night if more Ks are requested
This ride is now starting at the tavern.
