Yeti 575 frame ... Fantastic support
I have been a yeti 575 owner for about two and a half years; absolutely love the bike. Recently, after a fantastic biking trip in Scotland ,upon return I put the bike in for a badly needed service and received the bad news that the frame was cracked down near the bottom bracket. However, I have just had the most fantastic support from yeti: within 3 days of the bike being picked up by Paul Rowney himself, I was in possession of a brand new 2010 frame fully rigged up ready to ride......how's that for unbelievable service !!!!
Buckled Wheel
After Rob inspired me to do DH with his recent video post, this is what happened to my front wheel going through the 'stairway to heaven' section of Awaba DH. I did a nice flip too!
Also a good review of Stans Tubeless as the tyre held, only lost 5psi after burping and spewing sealant on the ground.
And if anyone is thinking of lacing a wheel themselves it is not as hard as you might think!
RP23 shock upgrade for Scott Spark
I am looking at replacing the rear shock on my 2010 Scott Spark. The bike is fitted with the DT swiss M210 which does an ok job, except for the bob. You sort of jump out of the saddle then go "oh" and sit down again.
So I am looking to upgrade the rear to an RP23. Others have done this for the Spark and given good feedback on forums.
My question is about sag setting. The manual for the Spark says 5 mm. This is less than the recommended sag for the RP23.
Seat Post Lube
Do you need any special lube for an aluminium seat post into a carbon frame or is normal grease ok?

Any words of advice / caution.
New Pivot Mach 5.7
Finally something to fill the gap between the Mach 5 and Firebird. Mach 5 is actually being replaced altogether...
Ebay Carbon Frames
These things have gotten me all curious. There are a heap of sellers out of Hong Kong, Taiwan and China essentially selling the same carbon frames very cheaply.
I know someone who has bought one of the road frames and been very happy with it, but I was curious if anyone had tried one of the mtb hardtails. Wondering if these are worth looking at, or if its likely that what turns up will be some brittle excuse for a carbon frame.
For those with no idea what I am talking about, here are a few random links (and this is not even close to an exhaustive list).

New rear shock, where can Iget one?
Hi all
As a newbie to Sydney, living on the North side of the bridge, my Fox float rear shock has died sadly.
I'd appreciate any guidance on where I can go to get a new one, and approximate cost. Is there anything as good as Fox for a little cheaper etc?
Thanks
Chainrings
Hi
I'm about to replace the drive train on my bike and was wondering if I need to change the front chainrings as a set or if I can get away with just the middle ring? The inner and outer are in pretty good condition.
If I don't replace them as a set do I have to use the same brand as they are, or are all brands compatable? Any advice on brand would be welcome, They are going to be bolted to a set of Raceface Evolve cranks on my Reign that gets most of it's use at Red Hill, Terrry Hills with the odd xc at Orimbah and 100k enduro. Not sure if that makes any differance.
Thanks
Trev
Cheers!
I just came home with a brand new Trance x2 (they were out of x3's in my size), and I absolutely love it!
Just wanted to thank all those that gave me advice in my previous thread
cheers!
