Busted Horse
Got back from a ride yesterday after hitting the Kiwarrak trail on my Ironhorse Bootleg 2.0, on cleaning the bike decided to have a little check over the bike for any cracks / damage as I normally don't ( I know my bad ) but in shock i discovered my back triangle near the pivot fully cracked on both sides of the bike.
Syncros DP 25 Tubeless
Hi All,
Has anyone attempted converting the Syncros DP 25 rims to tubeless ? and how did it go as I am thinking of converting but would like to know if its compatible and worth doing on these rims.
Thanks
Matt
Clipless practice
There are often questions about clipless pedals here. Yes, rather strangely named as these are the ones that you clip into as opposed to flats.
Anyhow, people often ask, "Are they hard to get used to?", and, "Will I fall off?".
Invariably the answers are: "Sometimes" and "Yes!"
Just wanted to share our experience this arvo with Pratiwi having her first attempt at clipless on the MTB. We went to a local park and cycled about 10 laps of a soccer field. The ground was damp so nice and soft. And lucky too, she was on the floor very soon
Brake pressure
I'm losing pressure in my rear Shimano LX integrated brake system. After the bike has been idle for a while, I can pull the lever into the bars. A bit of pumping on the lever it brings the pressure back up and it works OK. Is this likely to be just a bleed issue, or are there other possibilities? Can't see any leaks anywhere.
Tip required
My Raceface crank seems to be stuck on my bike. Does anyone have any tips how I may be able to undo the allan key bolt that holds it on? I did work out the part where you get the right size allan key for any would be smarty pants.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Chainguide advice
Would a Da Bomb Recoil chainguide fit on my 08 model Cannondale Chase?
thanks in advance for any help.
Hopeful hubful
Hey Wise Riders,
I'm currently running tubeless XT hubs and rims. I'm wanting to maybe check out some other perhaps hardy, easier to service rear hubs. I believe the Hope pro 2's are light, strong and easy to service? Anyone have any input as to the hubs...what I should consider regarding cassette to match and what rims would be good for the 32 spoke baby? Is there some other hub to consider?
Thanks
Mavic Rim failure
Went out for a final "training" ride for the Husky today and had a major failure of my rear rim (a 4.5 yrs old Mavic 721). Ripped two spokes clean out of the rim. No stick in the spokes, just a nasty twang while pedalling hard up a little rock garden area. Very careful ride home.
Fortunately the rear cassette off my spare bike is at a similar wear level, so (fingers crossed) a rear wheel swap and tyre change this afternoon and the Prophet is good to go for Sunday. Glad it didn't happen 25kms into the race...
