Narrowneck - Smell the Flowers

Below is a preview, click to read the full post
When:
Wednesday, 25 April, 2007 - 10:00
Meeting Point:

End of Glenraphael Dr. Corner with Cliff Dr, Katoomba. Although we might do well to then drive 2.5Kms down the trail to the locked gate and start the ride proper there.

And now for something completely different...

Given the amount of training going on at the mo (for the impending pain, that is the Dirtworks) couldn't really justify another day away. However, if one takes the GF along then all is good Smiling

Therefore, the other options discussed, for me at least, have been binned. I believe Sam, Shano and I (each with their trainee MTB'er in tow) are starters, but anyone else, who'd like to bring their better half along on a ride is welcome. Just be aware this will be slooooow.

Saturday 21st - Local Northern Beaches ride

When:
Saturday, 21 April, 2007 - 08:30
Ride Database Entry:
Oxford Falls (Morgan Road)

Didn't see a local ride posted for Saturday morning for those not doing the longer great north ride so thought to put one up to see what people would be up for.
Ride would be 20K+ at a medium pace. Stops as required by the make up of the group. Technical is ok.

If anyone has a particular ride they want to do please suggest it.

I'll start with Oxford Falls.

Lane Cove National Park

When:
Sunday, 22 April, 2007 - 08:00
Ride Database Entry:
Lane Cove National Park
Meeting Point:

Lexus dealership in Chatswood

Cnr Wyvern and pacific Highway

This ride will start and end on road, until we reach the western side of De Burghs bridge where the fun begins with some off road trails out to Epping and back, may even do the hill up to Pennant Hills park.

There will be hills involved and should be a good test of fitness, only 30km its generally an out and back ride with two small loops.

I am using it as a training ride for Dirtworks 50km....so I aim to hit it at a reasonable pace with as little stops as possible so a good level of fitness is required.

Below is a preview, click to read the full post
When:
Sunday, 22 April, 2007 - 10:00
Ride Database Entry:
Ourimbah State Forest

I'm going to Ourimbah with a newbie who hasn't ridden there before...and yes she's a chick. I'm calling it a 'chicks/noobs' ride because we will only be doing the XC course and will be taking it pretty easy - have no idea how long we will last there for. Anyone is welcome to come along and you are welcome to branch off and ride at your own pace if you wish. We will be going pretty slow and riding back over bits to have a practice probably.

Marramarra National Park
Meeting Point:

Bloodwood Road, Fiddletown - (will get a map reference shortly)

Hi all,

Some people are interested in getting back out to the Marramarra National Park. Me? I will be a first timer.

By the sound of the trail review (thanks Rob!) this will be an interesting ride that contains all the hallmarks of a fantastic single trail ride. Uphill, downhill, single trail, some fire trail, rocky bits, excellent exploration, and a lot of fun! Come along and join in the good times.

Trail review is here:

Red Hill Fun Day / Practice

When:
Sunday, 15 April, 2007 - 08:00
Ride Database Entry:
Red Hill

A conversation with a few on Tuesday has prompted me to post this one. This will be a day of fun, learning, spills and laughter. This ride will be more like a training day rather than a ride. For those of you out there that would like to practice on how to ride the more technical stuff, this is for you.
The pace will be slow.

Greg (aka Pikey) and Gazza hope to see you there.

Cya there

Saturday, 7 April, 2007 - 10:00

Turn left into Karool Road off the Pacific Highway. You will need to turn off the F3 onto the Pacific Highway either before or after the Mooney Mooney bridge. There is no direct access. Stay on Karool Rd until you get to the parking area at the entry gate. Watch out for sea monsters!

Anyone up for another great ride at Mooney Mooney at 10:00 a.m? Me and a couple of mates will be there Easter Saturday for a good hit out. It is an excellent ride with a good mix of single trail, up hills, slow and technical downhills. The trail review can be found here:

http://nobmob.com/rides/mooneymooneycreek

I will be there no matter what the weather. So what's your excuse? Laughing out loud Hope to see as many of you there as possible. Depending on the crowd, we can take our time if need be. Call my mobi on 0438 885 410 with lateness.

Tally ho!
