You'd think we all would have learnt a lesson from Lorrie's Mont experience

wouldn't you, but no, not this little ducky.

So N+1 hit the trails last night for only the third time. I actually wasn't planning on riding and certainly didn't intend to take the new toy but as fate would have it I did both.

In that this was my first "build from scratch" bike I was very diligent with correct torques when putting the little baby together. I was also careful / thoughtful / paraniod enough to go over the bike thoroughly after both my previous rides.

Trees @ Terrey Hills

Craig there were 2 trees down on Perimeter track Sunday arvo.

One which almost covered the entire track, just enough for a bike to pass slowly, and the other smaller one that shouldn't cause too many problems.

Sorry I won't be able to join you, have a pest guy coming to top up my termite system.

Planning a ride for newbies and lurkers and those with new bikes that are yet to hit the trails in anger (c'mon you should have removed the training wheels by now!). Chance to meet up with other riders and members of NOBMOB. Guys, Girls, partners, young, old are all welcome.

This ride will be hosted by Craig (craigs) and Gary (GAZZA) and be at a leisurely pace with plenty of stops for breath, water and discussion. I'd expect a few regulars to come along as well, you know who you are Smiling

Kanagra-Boyd by Fire Trail

Below is a preview, click to read the full post
Ride Database Entry:
Kanangra-Boyd National Park

An easy (though long) loop through some of the fire/management trails of Kanangra-Boyd.

Although this is quiet a long ride, it's technically easy as is pretty much 100% fire trail.

Start/finish in the carpark by the famous walls lookout. You notice from the profile that there's a climb back up the road from where you came, but this isn't as steep as it looks. Then take a left off the 'main' (if you can call it that) road and head North on Morong Creek/Kowmung River Fire Trail. You'll come back out on the road before being able to head South on Boyd River Fire Trail which joins back up with your original route.

Riding in the catchment area near Kanangra/Yerranderie

There appear to be a few tracks around the mining town south of Kanangra Boyd National Park. This area is in an SCA special area. However, the SCA says that bicycles may still be ridden on public roads in the special areas.

a. Is there any good riding around there?
b. Are there any 4wd tracks in the area which count as public roads?

Wed Night Ride - Terrey Hills

The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.

Ride Database Entry:
Terrey Hills / Duffys Forest
Meeting Point:

Terrey Hills Tavern carpark

Show on Google maps: Meeting point. Login or register to get directions.

Time for the weekly night ride followed by refreshments at the Tavern.

I'm up for doing the whole of Perimeter and Long tracks. It hasn't rained for a while so shouldn't be too much poo flavoured water for those that worry (Stuart Sticking out tongue ).

Meet in the carpark at the Tavern as usual....if there are any spots left!
