Long W/E Fun around Barrington Tops
Phew, you go away for a few nights and look what happens! Glad to see everyone had fun, for what it's worth, our little trip to Barrington Tops was very nice. Just fantastic all round, but more importantly - it's a great place to ride!
Saturday, Pratiwi did very well, I told here this would be, "Just like Terrey Hills":

Liking the new bike
Well I had to pull out of the Anderson's & Oaks ride at last minute so I went and rode Manly in the afternoon instead. I only timed the first of three laps which came in at just a touch over 38min. Happy to have cut over 5 minutes off my last attempt but I think the new bike has a lot to do with it.

Big BBQ Dh + Xc Day @ Ourimbah *note changed to the 20th
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Enter via Red Hill Rd, Ourimbah State Forest. On your right will be 'TreeTops' for the kids and it's large-ish carpark. Carry on past there and the first small clearing which is were parking used to be, and is where the 'Browns' single track turns (you might see riders on your left here). Please do not park in this car park.
Parking and official trail head is now designated a further 350m or so up the road where there is a larger area. There's a CCOMTB notice board here by the trail entrance (on the left as you drive up the hill). Park up nose to curb or as directed.
Big days of shuttles, pedalling and meat taking up a couple of bbq's and having a nice long day out at ourimbah- should be excellent times, all welcome just a fun day out! I will be supplying meat through work, but will need exact numbers confirmed at least 3 days prior so we can work out how much we will need- any suggestions welcome, vego's let me know too! ill check back later to confirm food and costs,
Cheers, Alex

Soapbox
Not an accusation but just an observation as someone who likes horses, aren’t the fire trails in Terry hills and especially Cascades nice and firm without the horse prints.
I am defiantly NOT saying that there should not be any horses because the trails are there for everyone to enjoy, but just an observation to those rangers and National parks to say that MTB's are not the worst thing ever especially in the Kosciusko National Park.
I will get of my soapbox now…..

Oxford Falls trailhead cleanup + ride
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Meet and greet at the trailhead
Bring some gloves , garbage bags and your bike if you are riding after, should not take long to clean up the trailhead and not only will you appreciate it next time your up there but the local residence should be happy with a cleaner area and maybe think better of our tribe.
Then up to you if you ride XC loop or do some shuttle runs or the DH course I will be working that afternoon so depending on the time spent on cleanup will allow.

I regularily do a ride from (Lane Cove)
I regularily do a ride from Cheltenham up to Thornleigh on back streets, down the Comenarra parkway then right onto browns road. About 50 metres down browns road is a sign on the left saying kuringai national park. Follow the single trail for a few hundred metres and down some stairs and your on the firetrail. Turn left and after a sweet downhill run you come out onto the end of beltana place. Head to the right down another firetrail for more downhill and then past some old stables.

leave only your tracks behind
Hi all just got back from a wicked Ox falls shuttle run then down to Deep creek early spring morning before the heat awesome except for one small thing , has anyone noticed how much rubbish is being left up at the trailhead ? Redbull cans Gatoraid bottles energy bar rappers etc etc , It cant just be a small group that is doing this , there is just too much crap left up there.
Its not bad enough for the residence to be confronted with bad parking and large groups of riders every weekend but all this rubbish sucks.

Big BBQ Day @ Ourimbah *changed to 20th oct.
After a chat with a few of the guys, we thought of having a big day at Ourimbah, shuttling heaps of runs, doing some xc stuff and having a BBQ in the middle to refuel So i emailed Alan at CCOMTB to check if this was okies, and just heard back no probs as long as hes invited hehe..
So thinking for next sat 6th Oct *changing to 21st oct, as everyone has stuff on next sat! starting at say 9:30/10...
I will need to know whos keen and exactly how many so i can organise food (i am a chef so thats kinda handy, and i can get meat etc. through work, and we can sort it out on the day)

Manly Dam at night
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
To much fun last week not to do it again.
You know the drill, hope to see you there.
