Weigh In Week 1.7 2nd june 07

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

20/5/07 28/5/07 2/06/07
Weight 106kgs 102kgs 101.6kg
Girth 106cm 106cm 102cm

Ok, so I'd be lying if I said I wasn't dissappointed with that weight loss, even though weight loss wasn't the main reason for embarking on this journey. My main aim was and still is "My aim is to improve my intake and exercise every day, even if its only a half hour walk at lunchtime. My short term goal is get fit enough that I will enjoy my upcoming endurance event. Time will tell."

Trail Fix

Amazing what a few zip locks, tape and an allen key can do.
Ridden out of Andersons for 10 km for an early exit for the day.

Amazing what a new bike can do... Crack'n'Fail - "There is no substitute" Eye-wink

Started at the lab. Pushed quiet hard climbing up to the sniggle. Took it quiet easy through there, even took the 'B' line onto the rock by golf course. There were a couple riders playing on the steps which I didn't make - the only touch the whole lap was there (cleared the top of the boardwalk).

Ride Database Entry:
Kincumber Reserve
Meeting Point:

End of Bronzewing Dr, Kincumber.

It appears we have interest in checking out Kincumba Mountain. Sounds like a nice place to ride. I am always open for riding "new trails". And it looks like we could probably fit in a couple of laps too, if it only takes 20 minutes to ride back up to the top. I will be happy to lead from the back! Laughing out loud

The approximate area to ride, as shown on Google Maps, is:

Grinning ear to ear!

Lap 2 here:

Doing Andersons before The Oaks made it a real struggle to keep pushing here. Technically credit to Steve, John and Murray with the same (if not couple seconds better) time as the four of us were in a convoy almost the whole way.

Awesome stuff, couldn't stop grinning at the bottom despite having a twinge of cramp (blame that on those Andersons climbs earlier) which stretched out quickly enough though.

The Oaks - Helipad to Gate

Ride Database Entry:
The Oaks
Exact Distance:
5.51Km

Not quiet as easy as you think - from the 'helipad' (that's the Oaks Clearing) to the gate has just a little climbing before that grin-inducing flat out fire trail.

Be careful of riders coming the other way and "Dead Man's Corner" - the sharp left near the top of the descent.
