Stage 3
Stage 3 started out at the Telegraph Station which meant a ride of about 7km to the start line.
The weather today had cleared to a reveal blue skies and cool temperatures so perfect riding conditions.

Stage 2
This stage is short (300m) but straight uphill to the lookout at the top of Anzac Hill. The elevation change is about 30m which starts of quite shallow but the gradient tops out about 19% around 2/3rds of the way up, but then flattens out for about 30m before rising again around a corner to the finish.
Riders are set off at 30 second intervals with the slowest from the Stage 1 going 1st and fastest last. The atmosphere on the hill was superb with both riders and spectators watching and cheering riders up the hill.

Stage 1
This stage rolled out from the event centre, the Chifley, in the centre of Alice Springs at 9am. The rain had fallen on Alice from Saturday evening and throughout Sunday meaning that there were some puddles but the trails had drained pretty well so were almost perfect.

Did the xc club race there this morning and the track is excellent.
Jelly leg climb was bypassed but I didn't hear why.

New Great North Road video just published!
I've become sort of a minor film star as Grant from TrailFlix has requested me to be the subject for several films he's made, most recent being of the Old Convict Trail at Wiseman's Ferry, which was filmed the week before Capital Punishment and has finally been edited and posted as a trail publicity video!
We're still working on getting an OMV video up but every time we arrange it something ALWAYS comes up! Hopefully that'll be up soon.
Enjoy

Yellomundee Regional Park update for 19 May
YRP is great! WSMTB raced there today (Sunday 19 May) and the course was excellent after track work last weekend.
Our next track maintenance is Saturday 25 May, 8.30 to about 12. With BBQ by WSMTB afterwards. As we will be doing erosion control, we need wheelbarrows, shovels, utes, etc. Wear boots and trousers, gloves and hat reccomended. All welcome!
If every Sydney rider did ONE volunteer morning per year on a track - then our tracks would be so good. When did you last contribute?

Berowra Valley update for 19 May
Still closed. Am guessing this could be for a fair while as I believe they are concreting one section of the descent on the Stewart Avenue side, and the entire track has been closed due to this. A section of the track was closed when it was concreted last year, and took months to complete.
Luckily we have OMV a five minute ride away!
