Talk to the hand

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Here's the x-ray promised awhile back of the damage sustained when I got bumped off my bike at Frenchs Forest by a bike hater last December while riding to work.

Seven screws, and a plate, all Titanium. Will be interesting to find out if it's enough to set off airport scanners.

General Service

Hi i think my bike is ready for a service.

Can anyone suggest where to take my bike for a service and will a brake bleed be included or extra. After all the sh*t with my brakes i think they need another bleed Sad

Thanks

Noisey Brakes

Just got some new soft compound rim pads and when I apply them they squeel louder than a pig. Does anyone know the cause and is there a fix?

I can't remember the brand name.

edit: I should add that they are orange in colour if that helps.

Blurred plate

Coming back from a ride the other night, I got stopped for breath testing by the police. As the only thing i drank was gatorade, they instead gave me a fine for "blured plate" for some 350$!!! I think they were after a quota to fill... Sad

Joining the white shoe brigade....

My road cycling neighbour had bought these Mavic Pro roadie shoes....I tried them - they are very light and airy, with a super-stiff sole...so I located the last size 10.5 in the UK; and even got them at 50% discount. Eye-wink. They are now available at local stores but their mark-up is just plain crazy.

Looking for some good pointers

Hello chaps/chapesses

Something of an exciting time for me as I'm finally getting the opportunity to build my own bike (Hardtail, with gears etc). All the parts are ordered (Lot's and lots of shiny) and on their way but I was wondering if any of you out there had and words of wisdom for a would be bike builders. Do's and don'ts, hints and tips, all that kind of thing.

Any information you can supply would be very much apprecaited. As an aside i'm going to put together a photo gallery / how to / blog type thingy as I've found information sparse on the web.

Cheers,

OT: Interview with a scammer - stay safe online

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

I often advise people never to include contact details (phone or email) in forum posts, but some do anyhow. Aside from annoying spam email (sent to addresses harvested by 'bots'), scammers trawl forums for personal details for fraud and phishing.

Have a read of this series of interviews with an ex-scammer from Nigeria, it's a look into this seedy world:
