Kids First Bike/Balance Bike Suggestions Please

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone can recommend the best first bike/balance bike for a 2 Year old. My son has a birthday coming up and I would like to get him one but not sure if he is too young.

I have been looking at the Avanti Lil Ripper and the JD Bug Trainer.

Any experience or suggestions? Brakes or no brakes?

Cheers

Matt

Crash at Towler's Bay Track: Stu (Dibbler) in Hospital

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Our good man and valuable Mont 24 hr team member Stu (Dibbler) had a bad crash during last Sunday's group training ride at Towler's bay track.

He landed hard and stacked after a water bar on an otherwise "easy" part of this firetrail that descends from West Head Road down to Pittwater.

He couldn't get up and had strong pains in his hip/leg. (He was later diagnosed with a fractured pelvis).

Petition to retain Old Bathurst Road and Nichols Pde (DH tracks in the Blue Mountains)

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Hello

As brief intro I am Alan David and have been involved in some trail advocacy work with the Blue Mountains City Council where we are working toward legitimate trails in the Blue mountains area.

We are initially focused on two Downhill tracks at Old Bathurst Road (Blaxland) and Nichols Pde (Mt Riverview).

Council has taken the initiative to commission a report on feasibility by council employees (Bushland Management) who have been working with volunteers and a small group of representatives (myself included).

Manly Dam update for 04 Mar

Area:
Manly Dam
Status:
Green/Open

A few puddles around the top end of the golf course but not too bad. The bit of water has actually given the sandy areas a bit more traction. If the rain that is currently falling lightly gets any heavier and lasts for too long then I reckon it would put it in amber state pretty quickly.

Do you have more information?

If you've ridden here lately please add a more recent report. This will be useful even if the condition is the same as updates expire after 30 days.
Please do not post comments with such information - post a new update with the link above.

Help! Bent Rear Derailier Hanger

Hey everyone, i went for a ride a few days ago and went over a massive stick without realising :S In short i ended up with the chain guide thing behind a spoke in my wheel.

Now every time i go into first and second it absolutely chucks the chain. Can i just bend it back or will i make things worse?

Thanks
