Criterium race (Jervis Bay Triathlon Festival)

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

I've just come back from Huskisson...

I watched this race yesterday afternoon I had never heard of. It was awesome to watch!

It's called Criterium. It's a race for young Elite Triathletes and works on a very fast three-round elimination basis.

One round is
300m swim
8km (8x1km) cycle circuit
2km run

They start with 25 participants, round 2 is 19 and round 3 is 9. Whoever comes 1st out of the last round wins the overall race.

Lost: $80 Terrey Hills

Bit of a long shot here. I lost $80 (50, 20 and 10) about halfway along Perimeter yesterday when I got caught in the rain. I reckon it fell out when I grabbed my phone to bury it deep into my bag to avoid the rain. Don't suppose anyone found it?

Glenrock Plan is Up

As discussed in NPWS - Draft Plan of Management for Glenrock the POM was coming. It's now out and can be found here:

http://www.environment.nsw.gov.au/parkmanagement...

There is an online form and you can complete a positive comment in seconds. Even something like, "I enjoy MTB riding and welcome legal single track and firetrail network in the park. I would be much more likely to visit Glenrock with these facilities in place." will do (although please don't copy that word for word as they weed out duplicates). So no more excuses - everyone should be commenting on this!

This is very important even for those living quiet a distance from Glenrock, as if passed in it's current form this plan will legalise single track in the park. If this happens we should all be using as an example of what can be done in other NPWS areas, and the benefit for Sydney riders should be pretty obvious in that light.

Huge thanks to Sammydog and co. for their work on this. They've done their bit, now it's time for us to do ours! Take a few seconds and use the comment form here:

Hard work today. In many ways the wetter conditions made the ride more tiring than last time.

CNN: Bumper sticker on bike clears out airport...

(CNN) -- A bicycle with a sticker advertising a Florida punk-folk band forced the evacuation of a Memphis, Tennessee, airport terminal late Monday afternoon, authorities said.

A pilot alerted airport police when he saw a bike with a sticker that read "this bike is a pipe bomb" parked near the passenger ramps of Terminal C at Memphis International Airport, according to the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority.

What's the etiquette for riding Terry Hills in the wet?

Hi All,

Just wondering if it's ok to ride Terry Hills with a wet track? I don't mind a bit of rain riding (and I'm a bit stir crazy from a 2nd wet weekend) but I don't want to damage tracks either. Obviously the dam is out and I noticed others rode Terry Hills in the wet last week.

Thanks
