fun training ride - i have some (2) "less" fit guys that we have to wait for at the top of hills but may make it that the faster guys go back and ride back up again.

Back at shops after a 17km lap we'll decide whether to add on another lap of Perimeter or add Duck hole & centre tracks. Would like a steady pace -no waiting - should get around in just over an hour.

I can't make the Blue Mountains overnighter and I still need to stretch my legs so what I'm planning to do is Duck Holes (then either Waratah or Baine or both) and returning via Centre.

While it is listed as a social ride it will be 30k's plus, so a reasonable level of fitness is required.

*********It's been pouring at Red Hill and around since sundown - I'm pulling the pin because it will be a quagmire will SMS all I that have mobile number for in their profile

Endurance racing pill poppers?

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

On my 100km race events I find my mind and body shutting down around the last 20km's.
It wasn't until I found a packet of "No Dose" on the track of the 08 Fling that I now wonder what people are popping to get them through the event. I think I eat well (thanks to Junkie) and would like to know what legal pills, potions and lotions you are all taking to help you get through. (Drinking alcohol the night before, I’m sure doesn’t help)

My race day diet consists of:

1. A Bacon and egg roll and an energize milk drink for breakfast.

We had a pretty eventful day. The weather was changing from rain to shine with every lap. Nige broke his chain out on the trail which knocked our time back a bit and to top that he also won the Tomato Sauce Award. Nige slammed into a boulder on his fith and final lap and ended up gashing his arm pretty bad. 10 stitches req. Hardcore!

Surprisingly the track got better after the rain and was in excellent condition. Loved every minute of it and am still grinning from ear to ear.

With all that we still did really well placing 11th out of 42 teams in our category.
