Rush Bling & Lefty Removal

Thule Work Stand

Over the last couple days have been upgrading a few parts on the Rush as it's hand-me-downs are going to a new build that's in the making.

The Rush got some Juicy Ultimate brakes (on special - couldn't resist), an XT crankset, Selle Italia SLR XC saddle and some Eggbeater SL pedals. As I say, the parts that came off are going on another build so easy to justify! Eye-wink

Anyone into photography?

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

I'm interested in improving my photography. I bought a new camera a few days ago.
Are any of you guys into photography?

The reason I ask is that I'd love to go on a ride and take pics of riders (and have people take pics of me). Obviously a typical nobmob ride is no place for this - stopping every so often to drag out the camera would not be feasible. Stopping periodically for photography is inconsistent with a flowing, fun ride.

Rather dull and nothing to do with bikes, what's that all about?

Thule Work Stand

Apologies for the quality - left the real camera upstairs and the phone isn't so good in the dim light of our carpark.

Anyhow - you get the idea... Thule bike racks like this make a great workstand. See the Lefty there held in place nicely by one of the clamps - even better than most stands in that respect! Smiling

Slight Annoyance

What's wrong with this picture? Sad

I'd noticed that the bolts on these J7's were rather tight last couple of times, now this one is completely bound and the head snapped on removal.

As you can see I cut a screw head in it but still no joy. Mole grips and WD40, then file edges maybe for more grip, then drill small hole in it and use some bolt removing fandangle cupcake mentioned to me.

Is this a lesson to always grease bolts when building your bike? Doh!

Not worried about HR monitor functions.

PM me if you think you have something I might be interested in.

Red Hill

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

I decided to ride red hill today.

I didn't want to use the usual entrance, so I found where a track met Wakehurst Parkway and drove there. I turned right into what looked like the start of the track, and Lo! I was at 4wd folly.

I didn't fancy driving up, so I unloaded my bike after parking a short distance away.
