Favourite trails

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Following on from the thread about Serrata and Gahnia not quite living up to the expectation of a section of the riding population, particulary in relation to flow (here: http://nobmob.com/node/49218), Trail Care has asked that we share our favourite trails both in Sydney, and all-time.

I'll start the ball rolling, although I'm not going to stick to the formula:

Just had to post this pic

Don't do this often but just put my new LB wheels on and thought it looked too good to keep to myself.

My Girlfriend Is a Mountain Biker

This was recommended for me on YouTube, and one of the few videos that was an accurate recommendation! This is hilarious, I suppose a humorous takeoff of what is usually the other way round (which of course happens to remind all single guys like me to choose carefully!)

650 Racing Ralph 2.25 ???

hi,
just wondering if anyone in the Manly area would have a rear wheel with a RacingRalph in 2.25, standard QR dropouts, and would be willing to let me borrow it for 5 mins. Would like to check clearance for this particular tyre.
there's a sixpack in it for your trouble.
Thanks

Terrey Hills MTB Hire

I'll be visiting Terrey Hills for a couple weeks from next Thursday (from the UK) and want to check out some of the trails nearby. Can anyone recommend somewhere nearby I can hire a couple of mountain bikes (hard tail or full suspension)? I saw from an older post that Manly Bike Tours do hardtails, is this still my best bet or is there somewhere closer?

AMB 100

Wowzers, I am really happy to have survived that! And it really did become all about survival - the heat, the climbs and then as fatigue set in surviving the descents! Oh and surviving the 3:15 wake up.

Some highlights were - a beautiful cool lap under lights of Stromlo, including being on top of the mtn for sunrise - then bombing down Skyline and Luge! Friendly volunteers - man they were enthusiastic! Skyline, Luge, Double Dissolution 5 TIMES!

A pretty memorable day!

WD-40 for my Racing Skills!

I write this at 9:30pm as I am sitting outside my tent at Stromlo about to turn in. It's about 16 degrees, an almost full moon with a few clouds and a light breeze blowing. This is paradise. As many rides and races that I do, few of them seem to have these type of stress free nights before them and I am deeply grateful to be able to just enjoy some peace and quiet. I sometimes wish all my life could be this stress free but at the same time, it is only because of all the stress I seem to find myself facing that I really notice the lack of it, even if only for a couple of hours.

A few watch outs around the Dam area

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

This kind of spans a few trails so thought his was more appropriate than a trail status update

From my ride this morning a few watch outs

1) Dam is pretty wet (no new news here)
2) Possums has a few very damp spots and is clearly getting a lot of traffic these days - couple of spots are starting to get very muddy and boggy
3) Austrian Enduro (the track down to the rugby field to get to Serrata) - pretty wet and holding water in a few spots
4) Daisy Dukes - again a few spots are very wet and some big mud holes starting to form

Beginner at oxford falls

Hey I've been riding mtb at manly dam and looking into doing some jumps. I went if to oxy but it seemed a bit big to start off on. Just curious how you guys started jumping at oxy. Did you just go for it or work your way up?
