TrisTraining: Where are we at?

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Hello! Welcome to the first of hopefully many posts on my MTB racing journey as I approach the elite level riders in the coming year. One main race, the AMB "100" is done and gone (read about it here!) with a decent, but not amazing, result, one week until uni begins again (gasp!).

Wylde MTB Trail update for 15 Feb

Area:
Wylde MTB Trail
Status:
Amber/Some Issues

Marking this as amber as intermittent rain is forecast for the week.

After Brian's green report yesterday and the dramatic impact of last night's rain making the latter half of the lap super slippy early this morning, I'd estimate track conditions are likely to be highly variable over the next few days.

If someone local has better insights please feel free to provide an updated report.

Withdrawn: Shimano 10s derailleur (105 or ultegra). Doesn't have to be working.

Note that this is "Withdrawn" so is here for archive purposes only.

Hi guys,

I need a shimano 10s derailleur for parts. It doesn't need to be working and I don't need the jockey wheels. I only need the inner cage plate.

Surely someone has something lying around?

Cheers
Tate.

Joke: A priest, minister and rabbi on an MTB

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

I burst out laughing when I thought this up the first time and couldn't resist sharing. First time most people will compare a water bottle to the family's jewels...

******************************
A Baptist minister, a Catholic priest and a rabbi walked into a bike shop at the same time to each buy themselves a nice new mountain bike (immediately you will realize this is a joke). Since they were all there together, they decide to take their bikes for their inaugural ride together on the local mountain bike track.

Below is a preview, click to read the full post
When:
Sunday, 15 February, 2015 - 08:00

The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.

Ride Database Entry:
Wylde MTB Trail
Meeting Point:

Wylde MTB Car park and Trail head is just off Elizabeth drive located next to the Sydney International (Cecil Park) Shooting Centre. The turn off can be found on the left 3km Due west from the M7 Motorway or on the right 600m Due East from Mamre Road.

Show on Google maps: Meeting point. Login or register to get directions.

Looking to familiarise myself with the circuit for next weekend's race, and get in a bit of training.

First lap will be at a moderate pace to see where everything is and maybe session anything tricky that we find, followed by a couple of hours of chasing each other round and round Eye-wink

While I'm way off what I like to think of as my usual pace (which hasn't been so usual of late) this won't be such a social ride, I'll be looking to keep the speed up ... as much as I can. Hopefully that means some of you're going to be a bit (but not too much) faster than me and I'll be pushed to keep up.
