MTB Rental
Hi,
I am new to Sydney so still trying to find my way around. I have a friend over from the US this week and we are looking to go for a ride on Friday afternoon (probably Manly Dam if it is open). He won't have a bike so I am looking to find rental options in/around the city or lower north shore. I have looked ta a few online but most either don't seem to have good quality bikes or will only rent for a minimum period of 2 days (we probably only need 6 hours max).
Any thoughts?
Thanks.
[Mod. moved to shopping]

Anyone ride the Dam today??
I assume you need a snorkel?? Got tomorrow morning off.

Post 50,000! Thank you!
While taking a break from that giant comical thread on MTB wheel sizes I've just noticed we were about to hit 50,000 threads. So here it is, post 50,000.
This is a small site and the number isn't particularly large compared to many others, but it's as good a milestone as any to thank everyone who contributes in both knowledgeable and often humorous ways. The mods here do their best to keep things clean, tidy and balanced. It's a credit to all that despite a lot of passion not much has to be done in that respect. Even when discussing wheel sizes
So thank you all. Here's to 50k more... Cheers!

Leeeeches
Picked up a little leech at OMV helping one of my kids post-stack, which turned into a big fat leech after gorging on my blood. My kids thought it was hilarious...until I told them that doctors still use leeches to help re-attach limbs ... after I rip their arms off.
No salt or lighter to get rid of it, so tried benedine. It dropped off ok, but the spot got mighty infected for days.
Tip: carry salt !

Riders on carvings
Hi all
We have been asked yet again to remind people to not ride over the 'moon rock' carvings on the other side of the fire trail from the model aero club at Oxford Falls.
Unfortunately the previous board at the Metropolitan Local Aboriginal Land Council did not sign or progress with the MOU we drafted two years ago which was an agreement to work with other land managers to resolve trails and specific issues in this area. This MOU was drafted following in-principle agreement to proceed from all key land managers.

For Sale: Bike Bag- Ground Effect Tardis
Hi
Im selling my Ground Effect Tardis bike bag. Near new. Bought in January 2015 and only used once. I bought it for a recent trip to NZ but I can't see myself flying in the near future with my bike so I am selling it.
There is a link below with more details and a video:

I found this bag very easy to carry and transport. It fitted into the boot of my station wagon and can be carried easily over one shoulder.
Price: $75
Location: Balgowlah
Pick up preferred but will post at buyers expense.

Wylde MTB Trail update for 01 Feb
Great traction on the off cambered corners since last time I was here.
Wildlife tally - 1 lazy blue tongued lizard + 1 red belly black snake. While I didn't hit either I wish they would trim the bushes a little farther from the trails so snake spotting could be done in advance of impact...
