Red Hill update for 05 Dec
Puddles in the usual places, but generally dry (and super sandy!). The recent rain has done a bit of work to help the graded fire trail bed in, but it's still quite loose in a few places where the motos have torn it up.

A reluctant parting, life is simply better on one of these. It corners, it climbs, it goes over rocks, it does everything else and handles any terrain/track. I cannot recommend this all-rounder highly enough.
It has been ridden, there are a couple of frame chips and wear marks. Overall, the bike is in very good condition and well-looked after.

Ride Day 2 at Rotorua
Today we learned I spoke too soon about the hills. But more on that in a moment.
On the way climb up Nursery Rd after the hikers' car park, we noticed an area blocked off with "construction zone" tape and warning signs. As part of the Crankworks early next year they are building a massive dual slalom track that looks like a cross between a two-lane luge and a dirt jump park among the massive redwoods. Amazing stuff. Will be one to watch on redbull.tv.

Bantry Bay update for 04 Dec
Did a few laps yesterday and it was good fun, many thanks to the trail builders! I'd say it was more like a black level trail though, especially the first half which descends some twisty rock sections. The larger drop-off sections are steep but nicely roll-able, just take it easy with the front brake. For reference, they are not as steep as the far-left route at Manly Dam 19th hole. Will be great when this all links up!

Manly Dam This Weekend - Open?
Hey guys,
how likely is it from your experience that they will close the Dam this weekend due to all the rain/storms happening? Just trying to figure out if I need to look for alternatives to ride.

Just wanted to say thanks to kittheknightrider for his tips on where to stay in Rotorua. The Alpin is excellent. Close to the trails, a functional kitchen, free wifi, a bike wash, and very comfortable. Our suite has separate bedrooms for a very reasonable rate. A bike mounted atop the sign is a good clue they welcome mountain bikers. 
We arrived yesterday and hit the trails for the first time today.
Highlights of todays riding were The Dipper, A Trail, Tickler, B Rude Not 2 and Mad If You Don't.
