Lane Cove National Park update for 01 Aug
The tree on Devlins Creek trail near Whale Rock has been trimmed back enough that it is no longer an issue. There is still a limb part way across the trail but no need to jump anything or duck under a head high branch.
Otherwise all good

Sparrow Hill update for 31 Jul
All go but for 1 tree down easily seen/avoided. I cleared some smaller branches off the trails but with the strong wind expect more.

Nutrition, Racing and Getting Faster at 46.
This blog is the next chapter in my "nutrition" journey, and an update to the blog I posted about 11 days ago. It's just over 50 days now since I started on the nutrition program. I'm drinking shakes every day for recovery and as a source of additional protein (and nutrients), as well as eating 3 reasonably healthy meals each day. I take a few supplements as well, and I'm planning to do a 2-day "cleanse" within the next week, then once a month.

Nobmobber takes on The Haute Route - Chamonix to Zermatt
G'day fellow nobmobbers I finished a guided tour of The Haute Route (The High Route) through the Alps, from Chamonix to Zermatt at the weekend and am only coming up for air now. Here's a link to my blog and a write up of the events, plus other thrills and spills...

Quarry Road Track (Berowra Valley) update for 30 Jul
QRT has now sprouted some unwelcoming signs closing us in two parts of the track, making it impossible to legally ride from Dural to Hornsby. There have been warning signs of the rifle range as long as I've been alive, but I've never heard of any real issue, though now the signs stop one from entering at all. Not sure the reasoning behind it - whether some ultra-tight regulations are now coming into play or if it'll be increased risk from the range, but anyway, here are the signs.
Judging by the response to those riders who were tracked having ridden OMV when it was wet, I recommend that one doesn't record riding on QRT, as long as these signs are there. Maybe it'll change!

Quarry Road Track, Hornsby, closed indefinitely
Bad news - as new trails are born, old ones seem to die.

SNORC OMV Event
From SNORC president, may be worth getting involved in for the new opening of Old Man's Valley. May be worthwhile to think about volunteering, particularly for those who have regularly competed but have yet to be at the "other side" of the race.
"Hi Guys,
This little but broad group email is to kick off a bit of discussion and idea gathering for an upcoming event.

MTB Weekend away from Sydney
Hi
I am looking at planning a 49ish birthday weekend for a bunch of mates. Does anybody have any recommendations of tour companies in the blue mountains, kangaroo valley, canberra, jindabyne, gloucester - some where a few hours out side of Sydney.
I am looking for a company that will take as much of the hassle of getting a bunch of blokes away for the weekend as possible. Some of the guys will have no experience or a bike.
Thanks in advance. (And sorry if I have posted this in the wrong forum!)
