Red Hill update for 03 Aug
It's not perfect and the motos having been out sharing their collective brain cell by getting throttle happy on flat areas.
However the trails are pretty dry.
The for trail work is fairly unremarkable. A couple of fun bits have been lost but a little weather, riding and other factors will help to rough it out in a few months.

Wet weather riding at Manly Dam
As we all know, riding at the Dam when the trail is wet is frowned upon. Some work has been done to weather proof the trail in some locations, although there is still a long way to go.
This has been proposed as an interim solution.
Personally, I think we need a few more jumps and technical obstacles, and probably some mangroves to replicate that singletrack feeling, but I reckon it has promise. Not so keen on the rubber suit thing though. We get enough stick from the motoring public for wearing lycra. 
Centre Track update for 03 Aug
Nice and dry. For some reason the little trail exit before the gate onto General Liberator Bomber San Martin Drive has been blocked off so you have to step over it or stand your bike up on its back wheel and roll it past the gate to get out.

All good. Perimeter and Long in good nick andreasonably fast. A couple of puddles still, but nothing major.

For sale is my beloved 2013 Orbea carbon Alma. The bike is setup as a flat bar road bike/commuter, but I built the bike to compete in cyclocross racing which never eventuated (it only ever saw dirt once at the jetblack 12hr setup as a Mtb). It's super fast and handles insanely well.

Ernest Gagnon weighed 570 pounds before he decided to lose weight by taking up cyclocross racing. Forgoing surgery, Gagnon lost more than 200 pounds and recently competed in his first cyclocross race.
Cheap 650b tyres
Whilst buying a very expensive replacement chain (that's what you get when you need it TODAY) I noticed some very cheap Racing Ralph's in at Inner City Cycles in Glebe. They are unlabelled but they tell me they are 650b.
They are taking them off new Giants when the customer wants some other tyre. They have a big basket of them about $20 each I think. Only the "performance" level but I've found these reliable for fronts (sidewall a bit weak for rears).
