Mount Annan Botanic Garden update for 05 Aug

Status:
Green/Open

Track is very dry and has had a bit of work on it in a few places in prep for the Rocky Trail event this weekend. Rode the black loop for the first time today - it has some tight, steep pinches that had me struggling. Will be pretty dusty for Saturday if there's no rain before then.
No magpie yet!!

Old Man's Valley update for 05 Aug

Status:
Green/Open

It's all open, including all of stage 2. The new section that had been damaged now has rock armouring and will hopefully drain well. I had the whole place to myself this morning - the new blue section in stage 2 is fantastic, very fast and flowy.

Mobius Action Camera review part 1

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

A few disclaimers before we start. I'm no cinematographer/videographer and I've not reviewed a camera before so be nice if I've missed anything. I'll drop a few links in amongst the text in the next part of the review where you can find much more info than I could ever hope to provide. If you have a question just ask and I'll answer as best I can.

Glenrock State Conservation Area update for 05 Aug

Status:
Green/Open

Dry on Saturday, but man this place has been neglected. I haven't ridden here in about two years and couldn't believe the amount of erosion, mostly caused by what appears to be wet weather riding. I can't really complain as I'm not a local nor do i have the time to do track maintenance here, but riders really need to stay home until this place dries out in future.

Has Mountain Biking gone mainstream?

Over the years I have noticed a few things - Lots of women now out enjoying riding especially on the road which is great and an air of conservatism from other MTB'ers on the trails.

Singletrack Mind Round 3 Awaba - Solo Open 4 hour

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

The Chocolate Foot events are always a lot of fun, good atmosphere, good people and excellently organised and supported. Round 3 of the 2014 Singletrack Mind series took place at Awaba, a trail that I’ve raced a couple of times as part of a team of 3, however this year I was riding the Open Solo Men’s for the SXC Racing team, a solo effort for the first time!

Stolen Bikes

Three bikes were stolen last night from the back of a friends car on Avalon.
What's really bad is two of them were only a week old as my friends had only just decided to get back into Mtb.
The two new bikes were Black Scott Genius 740s which I believe are 650b
The third was a White Cannondale Taurine which is an older but still very nice 26inch bike.
They weren't insured yet so the owners are really spewing.
Just thought I'd put it out there in case anyone sees or hears something?
Cheers
Gazza
