Manly Dam update for 29 Jul

Area:
Manly Dam
Status:
Green/Open

Nice this morning, couple of small puddles, but very very small

Question for those in the know: will the trail works address the known 'damp spots' on the trail to help them drain better (ie the single track after the golf course rock, the section after the creek crossing, and the shared path at the end of Nyrang Rd). The works so far are great, but these are common problem spots that keep the dam closed after wet weather that I assumed would get addressed?

For Sale: Ezi-Grip 3 bike towbar mount carrier

Price:
0.00

Free to good home. Far from new but works well. I originally found it and painted it up and made some padding. I think it's a 4 bike, but only has 3 clamps. I've upgraded to a 4 bike.

Free, pickup from Forest Lodge (Glebe), or I could bring it to WSMTB club race or Manly Dam some Sunday Morning.

An early start on Sunday with Dave (Doc) to get a quick look at the new ST, we got there around 8 and so it seemed did a lot of other people. After a quick chat with the other SXC boys (Graham and Wayne) Dave and I headed out for a quick look, 10km later we were back at the Event Center and ready to go.

My first 3 Ring Circus

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

What a beautiful day it was, the sun was shining, the temperature wasn’t too cold and I was about to enter my second ever mtb race. I was lucky (or unlucky) to have been granted free entry to the race given a mate at work won a free double pass when he entered and offered it to me, I thought what the hell sounds like fun and I will rope my usual riding buddy in to come. Unfortunately at last minute my mate was struck down the dreaded man flu and couldn’t compete so I would be riding solo.
