Ryland update for 16 Aug

Status:
Green/Open

Rode Ryland / Cooyong / Neverfail / Larool loop today. The first part of Ryland is pretty sandy but had had a couple of trucks along it to tamp it down. That won't last as it dries further. The Cooyong descent is a bit loose and sketchy (why did they wait until half way down the really steep bit to put up the sign warning that it's a bit steep??). The rest of Cooyong / Neverfail is like it has always been, chopped up by horses, sandy and with a few boggy bits. Some work has been done on the hill on Larool, making it a bit like a freeway for the moment.

Cascades update for 16 Aug

Area:
Cascades
Status:
Green/Open

Rode through from Linigen Pl to the Quarry Track / Mona Vale Rd intersection. A couple of wet spots, but generally good. Judging by the condition of that section, the rest of Cascades should be similarly dry.

Dry and fast enough to be fun again after what seems like months of tip-toeing through the wet bits.

29er wheelbags

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

I have a set of race wheels that I would like to keep in a bag/or bags while sitting at home and in the car on riding weekends.
My dream (and looking around it seems it is just that) is to keep the tires mounted (not flat, but certainly not at 60Psi), rotors on, so all that needs doing is to change the cassette,,pump them up and ride off into the sunset. There doesn't need to be 100mm of padding as I look after them, but I don't want a bag with no padding.

Has anyone found any?

Lane Cove singletrack ?

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about single track in the lane cove area? I heard there was a bit up near the M2, close to the tunnel that leads under the M2.
I just heard it from a friend, but upon a bit of research there doesnt seem to be much single track out there (legal single track that is).

If anyone knows about any, feel free to tell me! Smiling

Pretty much bone dry apart from the usual rock pools by the creek. Didn't even get my bike dirty this morning.

For full Race report:

http://sxcracing.com/jet-black-12-hour-sxc-racin...

Well after a lot of time in the planning, the Jetblack 12 hr at Dargle farm represented the first real team hitout for the SXC Racing Team.

After are few last minute injuries and a bit of team juggling, we managed to enter 3 teams for the event – Masters Men, Open Men and Mixed Open Teams.

The weather for the day was spectacular, and after a pre course recee ride the course was also in perfect condition.
