I am looking at a new frame to build up and the one I like has press fit bottom brackets. Anyone had any experience with these? What is the benefits? can you still fit your normal cranks?
Thanks

Spring Cycle - Not technically MTB but an adventure none the less

Spring Cycle is not technically MTB, in fact its not even close, but its an adventure none the less. It was a great day for the boy and I and his mate and his dad.

Riding over the bridge and cutting loose over the Cahill Expressway was AWESOME.

Tool Kits

Hey Everyone
I am starting to put in my orders for xmas with the minister for fun and finance (wife). Was wanting some feedback on the better tool kits to buy so that can do a lot of my own maintenance.I recently changed the gear cables but wanted to expand my self maintenance repertoire. I have a had a brief look at the usual suspects online but not realy sure where to start. Some of the jobs I wanted to tackle include; brakes, hubs, headset, shocks and possibly the BB.

Any feedback from those that currently do thier own maintenance would be greatly appreciated

Manly Dam update for 24 Oct

Area:
Manly Dam
Status:
Green/Open

Even drier today than yesterday so status is Green.

1. Didn't see the Gibbs Street Butcher Bird this time around, but I heard him yesterday so he is still around: beware!

2. Some more unofficial track modification has happened overnight: there is now a substantial rock under the top step of the last section above the "slippery when wet" timber run to the end of the track. What was a small drop is now a ramp down (leading directly and now more quickly to another small drop onto the timber ramp). The rock is large and well-shaped and was very deliberately put there: why? I cannot understand why anyone would do this.

Do you have more information?

If you've ridden here lately please add a more recent report. This will be useful even if the condition is the same as updates expire after 30 days.
