The iconic JetBlack 24 Hours as well as the Mercedes-Benz 6+6 will return to Mt Annan for the second time. After rain, more rain and heatwave we had an epic and close to perfect race on our hands last year. This year we plan more of the same.
Shimano MTB GP Round 4 - Now Ourimbah
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Enter via Red Hill Rd, Ourimbah State Forest. On your right will be 'TreeTops' for the kids and it's large-ish carpark. Carry on past there and the first small clearing which is were parking used to be, and is where the 'Browns' single track turns (you might see riders on your left here). Please do not park in this car park.
Parking and official trail head is now designated a further 350m or so up the road where there is a larger area. There's a CCOMTB notice board here by the trail entrance (on the left as you drive up the hill). Park up nose to curb or as directed.
The final showdown in the Shimano MTB Grand Prix series for 2012. GP series winners, JetBlack BikeShopTrophy and Interschools Trophy will be decided. You can also come and race just one round! 4 or 7 hours, solo or in teams.

Dual v Hard tail 29er
Thinking of moving to 29er and wanted peoples thoughts on dual v hard tail.
The most technical riding that I do is Manly Dam & Appin and want to understand if a hard tail would be too "firm" for the technical trials?
Other trails and events that I ride are cascades, st ives, terry hills, dirtworks, fling, doctor

Warringah Council Update - what's going on and volunteer days
Hi all
TrailCare has been meeting and liaising with Council staff (Damian and Christina) and also the mayor, Michael Regan and Councillors Christina Kirsch and Virginia Laugesen.
We have also attended a few Council meetings where there was unanimous support from all Councillors for dirt jumps.
Two of their staff including the head MD ranger just attended the 4 day IMBA Masterclass in Hornsby where the got hands on experience on the new track under construction.
Withdrawn: Fizik Gobi XM K:ium mountain bike saddle
Brand new saddle never been used. Came with my Giant Reign bike but I replaced it with my old favourite saddle. The saddle has tail and wing flex.
Depending where you look it retails for approx $180. Will sell for $80. Contact Lisa on 0414 517 756.
Dargle 12hr
This was my first 12hr and rode it in a pair.
We came in knowing we would struggle but wanted to finish on the bikes and not sitting on the sideline.
We managed 22 laps and fairly consistent pace up until lap 10 and 11 for me. We ended 12th place in male pairs (9th in category).
I managed to take fastest 3 laps over my team mate and fastest overall by over 15 minutes which was surprising.
I had a nice stack on lap 10 when I was off with the fairies and hit a tree so I stopped for a minute to get my composure before continuing.
Anyone got/ridden one of these? La Pierre Zesty 314
Seen one for a bit above what I have to spend but wonder if it'd be worth the extra. I'm very much an XC rider and this looks the part.
Any opinions welcome.
