Interesting UK police blog on road safety
After many close calls and recently being hit by a car while riding I have been reading what I can do to limit the risk. Bright clothes, flashing ligths, started recording rides.... none of which seemed to have made much difference. I think this was a great articles with some good tips. Watch car wheels as they are the first to move for example.

Manly Dam update for 09 Sep
Rode the Dam this morning. It's a damp in a few of the usual places, but for the most part it is fine to ride. You'll get a bit wet and muddy, but it's open and better than I expected.
Go easy in the soft spots over the weekend so as to not smash the trail up too much.

Community info day for Westleigh Water Board land - Ruddock Park
This Sunday at 12:30pm, there is a community event at Ruddock Park, Westleigh to discuss the future of the Westleigh Water Board site, which was recently bought by council to have the area transformed into a public sport/recreational facility. This facility hopes to include a legal MTB (similar to what OMV is like), the need to which is proven by the zillions of riders at the Hornsby track that are displaced as the track is closed for several months.

CCMTB XC and DH
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Enter via Red Hill Rd, Ourimbah State Forest. On your right will be 'TreeTops' for the kids and it's large-ish carpark. Carry on past there and the first small clearing which is were parking used to be, and is where the 'Browns' single track turns (you might see riders on your left here). Please do not park in this car park.
Parking and official trail head is now designated a further 350m or so up the road where there is a larger area. There's a CCOMTB notice board here by the trail entrance (on the left as you drive up the hill). Park up nose to curb or as directed.
XC in the morning and DH practice in the morning and racing in the arvo
Both XC and DH track are suitable for all skills levels.
