Kowalski Classic 2016
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
The Ride Canberra site describes the main forest entrance as being the corner of Kowan Road and Sutton Roads. There is a parking area 5km into the forest along Kowan road with gates that may be locked. Call Canberra Connect (13 22 81) for the combinations or ride from Sutton Road for a warm up.

THE RACE
Now in its fifth year, the Kowalski Classic is a one-day showcase of the famous trail network of East Kowen Forest and Sparrow Hill. The event celebrates the achievements of local trail builders Paul Cole, Alan Anderson and the award winning Kowalski Brothers Trailworks (our trail building crew), who together have hand built over 110km of flowing trail in East Kowen (the Kow) & Sparrow Hill (the Bird).

PBM HardRock 6hr - The Debrief
Looking at the nobmob event calendar it looks like I could have been the sole NobMobber at the event so I thought I share a short summary for those who considered it or is considering it for next year.
The race was a 6hr lap race with the usual bunch of categories. Organised by the local club calling themselves tipriders:

This was the first year they organised it but they did so super professionally. Everything worked brilliantly.

Manly Dam update for 22 Aug
Did most of the traditional loop today for the first time for at least a couple of years. Surprised how blown out it is in many places. Obviously getting plenty of use. Not as much fun on a short travel XC bike as I remembered it. Also rode Possums, the pipeline track the Nursing Home Ridge Track for the long loop. Apart from the wear and tear on the main loop, track conditions otherwise were pretty good, but will deteriorate again with the rain starting this afternoon.

For Sale: 2 tickets 50 km Highland Fling $230 Sunday 13 November
We are sadly looking to sell 2 half fling tickets for this year. Unfortunately we have a wedding that weekend so can't go.
The tickets are usually $120 each so you do get a wee discount for a great weekend! I understand it is free and easy to change the name on the tickets- happy to organise this though.
