I took 2 minutes and 9 seconds off my best time so I'm happy with that Smiling

I had been in contact with Gazza about buying some gear he had for sale and we arranged to meet at Terrey Hills on Saturday morning as he was racing in a cyclocross series. I read his post about the race and thought it would be good to try something different, and as there was a category for first timers and those on a MTB I committed myself to give it a go. I'm glad I did!

The good, the bad and the ugly

This year for the 8 ¼ hour I signed up with Craig (craked) and Wayne (Dicko) for the Male Threes as “The good, the bad and the ugly"

Phil, Jos and Michael were signed up as the “Iron Horse Pony Club”

We all put in $20 and the fastest lap between the two teams would take the pot. Our first goal was to beat the Ponies and second was to take home the cash. We achieved the first as the Ponies claimed the fastest lap with Michael doing a 37:30 on his second lap. Well done mate.

Christmas Bargain!
I am selling one of my roadies. This bike has been a faithful training partner for a few years. I can honestly say that it hasnt been ridden for a year, but prior to that, it saw a lot of action.
Its a carbon frame made in Italy, for Sigma Sport. Sigma were my first and only sponsor in the UK. THey picked me uk when I was a young lad of 16, and supported me until I left the UK at age 30.
One of the worlds finest bike shops. www.sigmasport.co.uk check them out.

Electronic Timing Board

As you came into transition it would post your time. The was the first time I had seen this set up and it worked nicely because you could see you time but more importantly confirm your chip had registered properly. They also had wifi and you could also check live on the internet.

In the pic you can see Craig's lap of 38:50. Nice time Smiling

Base Camp

We secured a spot for the Iron Horse Pony Club amongst the trees as promised although there weren't any ant nests.

Ours was all set up including, tarp on the floor, comfy chair, work stand and bike rack.

Cameron and Ian setting up there's so we had plenty of shade.
