Jesmond Park/John Hunter Hospital Hill update for 18 Sep

Status:
Green/Open

Some rutted trails after the rain particularly from the top near the hospital heading straight down towards the park. Obviously with no grooming some less frequently used trails are pretty tired.

Green for go. Last night's rain has made the tracks fantastic. Finally rode the new BJ's, I like it!

This morning at 7am when i went from Shaft to the treatment plant and tried to cut across to Snakes and Ladders, I couldn't as there was an excavator and workman there. Had to spin up the tar, back down Dr Seuss and down the management trail to get to S&L.

All nice & dry with awesome weather too!-although on "High Roller" someone has dumbed down the creek crossing by removing "Robs rock" rather than learning to ride it!!!!

Had a good ride today tracks all good and dusty with a lot of leaf litter and small branches, except for De Luge which has a couple of big water holes.

Tyre choice

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Hi everyone,

Can you guys offer some advice on what sort of tyres you run and what would be a good all round set up. I have a trance x1 and have just about worn the nobby nics out. Riding on the road during all the bloody wet weather hasn't helped. Anyhow I'm not overly cashed up and cant really afford lots of different set ups for different conditions so I'll save these oldies for the road and get a new set up for the dirt. I mainly ride Glenrock, Awaba and am entered for Wollombi and The Highlands Fling later this year. Your advice is greatly appreciated.

Rode for 2 hours throughout glenrock and it was incredibly dry. So much so you wouldn't think it got any rain at all. she is green all the way
