Cross Country
Early Galston Gorge (Quarry Road Track)
End of Stewart Ave, Hornsby
Best way to start my Sunday morning before getting into a load of schoolwork. Part of my training for a race I'm hoping to compete in for my school, though won't be pushing it too much. Just crusing and pedalling up at a brisk but not painful (for me), so experienced riders are preferable.
Check out the trail page for more info, there's not much else to say!
Paterson Kona 24 Hour - May 21/22.
Boulton Road, Paterson.
The Paterson Kona 24 will be hosted by Hunter Mountain Bike Association, and will provide a true test of mountain biking endurance and skill, all in a fun family-friendly atmosphere.
The original Paterson Classic was an XCO event run over a decade ago along the site’s vast array of fire-trails, and was renowned as a brutal test of mountain biking skill.
With full support from the Paterson community, this event will raise money to aid in restoration and maintenance of some of the region’s historic buildings, including several local churches.

Knapsack, In and around
North Gate, Barnet St
I plan to get there a little early and do a spider web sweep on a short section of trail b4 we ride it.
Parking is available either side of the gate on Barnet St, Parking is also available at the Skate park and Glanbrook Shops. This meeting spot is next to a residential area so volume will need to be kept minimal.
This social ride is an open invite so out of towners are welcome.
Ride is as discussed. Approx 15kms taking around 2hrs depending on Chat and regrouping time.
Im limiting the group size to 10 to keep regrouping at a minimal.
If we are feeling well and have time when we are next to the RAAF base. We can add an extension of riding.
Wingello
4Km SW of Wingello village on Caoura Rd there's a small base camp within the forest - seems as good a place as any.
Hi - I'm hitting up Wingello on Sunday morning. If I'm completely honest, its gonna be a bit fast for most peoples sunday ride - I dont wanna sound like a @#$% but 20kph is a fair indication of average speed for 3hrs.
I'll ride the red loop twice (the one including the wall) and probably some other bits.
I'm happy to cruise some bits as a group, but there will be sections where I am gonna be gunning it a bit. Probably 2 or 3 x 5-10mins efforts.
If you're keen, it would be great to have some company. If you are worried about pace, flick me a pm.
Mont Training: Hill Repeats at Terrey ... erm ... Hills
Although we don't normally ride this trail on it's own, with a bit of road work it makes a nice loop from Terrey Hills shops (on Booralie Road) then onto Centre Track and back along the road to the shops.
That's the same as the more standard Terrey Hills rides.
After a warmup ride from Terrey Hills Shops to the bottom of Duck Holes we'll be doing:
* four to five x 5 minute seated, low cadence climbing intervals back uphill along Duck Holes with 5 minutes recovery in between
* back to Perimeter and Long possibly with a few diversions to run out the time at endurance pace
This is Session 3 from Mark Fenner's Fitness: Training for Endurance Racing published in June '10's issue of AMB.
If you can't do the full ride time that's OK. The key part is the hill reps and the first hour thereafter.
See ya there
Mt York Sunday Morning
Mt York Road, in Mount Victoria. You could probably park anywhere along here, and there's a decent sized area (with camping I believe) at the end of this road. That said, the junction with Berghoffer Drive/Lockyers seems the most sensible suggestion.
I know there is already a Knapsack ride on Sunday morning (sorry Andrea).
But Todd and I have been talking about Mt York at the same time so Ill post it up anyway. If anyone wants to join us we are meeting in the gravel carpark, GWH on the right after passing through Mt Vic where the council workers park apparently.
I can't remember what direction we're taking but Todd said an hr up uphill first so those who know the area will know what that means.
Best bet is to PM or ring Todd for directions as that's what Ill be doing.
Cheers,
Ian
Knapsack Sunday Morning
Glenbrook Oval, Hare St, Glenbrook NSW. Near the skate park. Ride down Moore Street to the start of trail that leads into the main park around the gate.
We ask visitors to please park here to not affect the residents. Plenty of parking plus amenities.
I can't make it to the Saturday morning ride due to work commitments, so I'll be heading out Sunday instead. Feel free to join me..

Withdrawn: Cannondale Taurine Frame!
Note that this is "Withdrawn" so is here for archive purposes only.
2008 Taurine carbon frame.
i bought this second hand over a year ago and built it up as a fully rigid singlespeed and have only ridden it three times so i'm breaking it down to sell it and some of the parts.
frame has no cracks but has the usual chips and scratches.
the bottom bracket is a bb30 but has an adaptor sleeve and a truvativ standard BB.
it doesn't come with a Derailer hanger so one will need to be purchased after sale.
P.M. me for any queries.
p.s. i bought two of these frames and had one resprayed, well worth the consideration as i'm more than happy with the resprayed one!
