Do you like a real challenge?
There is a new race in South Africa with the highest prize money of any MTB race in the world at a whopping US$ 1,000,000.
The race is 1,000km and there is one stage. Teams of two race "non-stop" for the 1,000km and the first three teams to cross the finish line get $750k, $100k, and $50k, with a further $100k going into a lucky draw for all but the top 3.
Are you tough enough? .....I certainly am not.
The end of the (Woody) world(s)
Someone at work geed me up to do the Woody worlds Careflight this year
I'm wondering if it's far from Euroka up to the single track
And is anyone going to do that so I can tag along
And come up and say hi if you see me
I'll be on my old faithful 2005 stumpy recently rebuilt and resprayed stealth black
Mt Annan v Ourimbah
Hi All,
How would everyone rate Mt Annan v the Ourimbah track from Rnd 3?
is Mt Annan as technical in terms of climbs and descents?
the profile map shows some large'ish climbs and downs, are they as technical as the Drop Off and that horrible climb up through that dark bit of forest where there were rocks and a log (whihc i said hello to) on teh side.

Tathra re-run debrief
Take two of this years Tathra enduro was run over the weekend.
Second time I do this event. It is a loong drive but last year was such a buzz I came back for more. If last year was good this year blew me away, some sections I could not remember had been added causing many spontaneous Yeehaas! Especially a snaking half pipe type of section that sent us on a laugh out load roller coaster ride. Unreal!
All of you - do yourself a favour and enter this event next year.
Cheers!

What is best first race to aim for?
Greetings,
New to the sport but rapidly becoming addicted to the point that, even though it's only very early days, I am keen to participate in an event in the foreseeable future.
My goal would only be to complete not compete, then working up distances over time.
I would welcome any advice or opinions on what events might be most suitable for a novice such as myself.
Thanks!
Port to Port
Is anybody here going to race in this event? I am doing all 4 days, and I expect to be pretty stuffed by the end.
Also, as this race will pass through Glenrock I wonder what sort of impact, if any, there might be on the trails. Although I've only been in Newcastle for 3 years I don't recall seeing any race days here.
Cheers,
Jake
24 hr race - what to bring?
I am entering my first team 24 hour race.
What advice do you have in terms of what equipment, spares, general kit should I bring?
Thanks
Elite Category
In most races I've done there is an Elite category. What governs who race in that category? I was studying the results of the last race and realised many in that category were slower than regular weekend warriors racing in the "normal" age categories.
Are certain riders forced to that group or is it self governed?
