Consistency
Forgive me, but Pratiwi & I went for a little scum ride yesterday. Yes, yes... but she made me enter the Gong ride and wanted to do some 'practice'.
Anyhow, interestingly she thought we'd gone much faster yesterday then a previous ride there (about 6 weeks ago). Digging up the numbers to check...
From Terrey Hills shops to the end of West Head Road:
Previously: 1h07m27s
Yesterday: 1h07m05s (22 seconds faster)
From end of West Head Road to Akuna Bay:
Previously: 56m22s
Yesterday: 55m51s (31 seconds faster)
From Akuna Bay to Terrey Hills shops:
Previously: 47m33s
Which Dually??
I'm looking to upgrade my bike to a Scott spark 50 or the trance X3 or X2 has any body got any suggestions. I am looking to do longer rides than the 1 or 2 laps of everywhere I go riding , instead of trying to better my bike I will look into upgrading instead

Anyone interested in a bike swap?
Hello,
I have a dual suspension Santa Cruz Blur XC racer, and I am looking at swapping for an equivilant value (Around 4-5k-ish) HARDTAIL XC.
Reasons for wanting to swap, is I am starting to do more enduro events and adventure racing, and I want something with better power transfer, and it is also one less thing to worry about on a long race.
The bike is quite new, probably less than 200km's on it.
Seinfeld's bike has no chain
I rather like to watch old Seinfeld episodes once in a while and noticed yesterday in a shot where he was standing close to the bike (the one hanging in his hall) that it actually didn't have a chain on! I think this episode was titled 'The Seven' (or maybe the one before?) and for some reason looked at the timer and it was around 6m30s into the episode.
If you search around you'll find various stories about Seinfeld's bikes, but I don't think anyone noticed this before
Getting bikes to NZ
My hubbie and I are heading to the north island for the x-mas holidays and I was hoping for some advise as to the best way to get our bikes there. Would it be easier to lug them to the airport or has anyone shipped their bike over there for pick up. Also, does anyone know if there is a place to rent a bike carrier or should I just buy one? Thanks.
Regards,
Maria
First tentative pootle around the neighbourhood
As some of you may know, I had a nasty dislocation back in March that required a shoulder reconstruction in May. Not as nasty as CB's crash, but not trivial either.
Today, in between rainshowers, I took the Jekyll out for a gentle ride around the neighbourhood to stretch the legs and check out the upgrades I put on the bike over winter:
* 2009 130mm Lefty PBR fork
* Manitou Swinger 3-way shock
* Bontrager tubeless conversion kit
* Ignitor 26"x2.35" tubeless both ends
* New middle ring, chain and cassette
* New DMR Wing Bars 31.8mm x 640mm wide
* 100mm stem to suit
Danny McKaskill is at it again...
Just seen this ad on the homepage for the Glasgow Herald newspaper.

Cops on bikes...
mmmh...they should introduce this in NSW...raises cycling awareness and therefore makes the road safer...
(as motorists surely wouldn't dare to "nudge" or hurl abuse at a cycling cop)
Magda Szubanski encourages violence against cyclists - not funny Magda...
See this excerpt from GNW TV show – Magda Szubanski encourages violence against cyclists - not funny Magda...
Does she car pool with Rex Hunt? Magda, for your information, it is legal to cycle on the road.
This will just help to encourage the Bogans yelling at & threatening cyclists...
