Rode here this morning was very nice and 90% dry just the odd wet patch well almost dry mud. I was surpised how it has dried up considering the amount of rain we have had

Awaba drains really well, that goes for the DH trail as well. The road doesn't, but we have major road works scheduled for the next week or so.

The soil out there helps, but the trail crew has done a lot of tweaking to make sure the trails actually drain. As long as your not there while it is pouring, it is generally ridable. New sections can be a little sloppy, but once they bed in its all good.

How did you find the new sections?

I actually didnt end up riding the new 2 or 3 km trail that was put in as i was unsure wether it was up for us just yet and thought to stay of it until i find out. I did do the pie chart or pie in the sky section and thought that was a nice line. is the new section more like that or like the rest of the trail?

New section has a lung busting climb that defeats a lot of those who take it on (alternate ways up are being looked at), then some nice contour following trail followed by a decent that has had people clocking 60km+ on the way down.

Pie Line is a great line, but it brings in the dilemma of missing the DH section of trail you have just worked hard to get too.
