The track is still officially "closed" with signs at the expected places and a locked gate across the entry to the Wakehurst Parkway single track section.
But I spent a pleasant few hours wandering around the track this afternoon and it appears to be substantially dry. The usual seepage is there in the usual places plus a few small puddles - I've seen the track much wetter than it currently is and marked open/green.
The one section which I would describe as a bit of a "quagmire" is the swamp section just before Monserra Road: everything else is well rideable. The track obviously needs a boardwalk over or re-routing around that swamp IMHO.
For those NoBMoBers kvetching about people riding the track when it is closed - I saw very few bicycle tracks. I definitely saw plenty of erosion but all of it caused by water running off and taking the soil with it; consequently the track is quite rocky and rough in some of the steeper places.
I just wanted to give a shout out to the trail fairies who have obviously done work draining puddles around the circuit - it all dries out much quicker once the standing water is drained away, and then we can all go riding sooner. So thanks
Thanks for the update - encouraging about the lack of bike tracks... although I wonder whether the evidence from the weekend has just been washed away
The steeper parts of the trails at Terrey Hills have similarly suffered from water flow - care needs to be taken launching off the water bars lest you land on something unexpected.
