Lost Garmin 510 white back. My stromlo

Rode down Skyline & the luge. Gave my son th Garmin probably lost it when he came off half way down the Luge. About 1 pm or just after
It's a 510 white backing
I have the serial number
I went up again to try to find it.
I know some people found it as they were asking around down at the car park . Bu by the time I came back down to the car park I was too late

Someone suggested some sites I should check?

Thanks in advance

Government ministers are failing the people and putting lives at risk

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

This should be of interest to everybody, not just those who ride to work in the city.

Ministers Gay and Constance today announced the demolition of the College St cycleway.

Their antipathy to cyclists is now on open display, on a day when, sadly, a fellow rider has lost their life after being run over from behind by an earthmoving truck and trailer in the eastern suburbs.

Chapeau to Ray Rice from BNSW for calling out this bloody-mindedness for what it is.

I heard about this event via the HMBA so thank you in advance for the heads up on what is a really great race. The recent rain fall made the single track pretty challenging with lots of crashes and technical problems. There is a great photo of a guy attempting to negotiate the last 10km just on his back wheel rim. It was shame that this event really doesn't seem to attract the numbers with probably only 70 competitors if that there. The money raised goes to helping local projects in the area so it's all for a good cause.

Jockey Wheels

I need to replace my two Jockey wheels.
Is it worth paying double $$ ($50) to get ceramic jockeys over standard Shimano XT ones?
Is there any benefits?

KMC Chain or Chain cleaner?

Im looking for the best/cheapest way to keep my chain clean.

I ride a Giant Trance 1 , with Shimano chain.
Is it worth it to buy a chain cleaner? If so can anyone recommend a good brand/cleaner?
or
Buy a KMC chain which is easy to remove and soak the chain in paint thinner?

bathurst evocities round 3

Just a heads up for those not in the know make sure you bring plenty of spares tubes patches latex stans etc as the Bathurst track is cat head Central... one trip off the track and it its all over
I had 15 catheads in my tyre after a brief off on one of the corners. They all caused air to come out upon removal and I run tubeless with caffelattex

You have been warned

Great track other wise hard to get used to the slippery decomposed granite surface ..less tyre pressure in front helps
Cheers

converting to 1x11

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

OK so I know this has been discussed before many times but here goes anyway
I want to convert my 2011 specialized epic comp carbon 29er to a 1x11
My question is should I stick to sram components or go to shimano
I basically want to keep my xo truvativ carbon cranks if possible and get a narrow wide up front probably 32-34T
Was thinking going SRAM xx1 rear derailleur and cassette or shimano xtr not sure about front shifter yet

Any advice on gear would be much appreciated as this is all new to me

CX this weekend!

For those in the dark, the first round of the Manly Warringah Cyclocross Series is this Saturday at JJ Hills (pony club, BMX grounds) at Terrey Hills.

You don't have to have a CX bike as you can race your MTB and there are childrens races as well - but you DO have to bring a sense of humour and big heart. It hurts but is soooo much fun.

1.30pm Rego & Course Practice

2.00pm U7 Kids
2.15pm U12 Kids

2.30pm B Grade CX (CX Bike Only),
Womens CX/Open (any bike), and
Open Mens (non CX bike) - 35 minutes

3.00pm Course Practice
3.30pm A Grade CX - 45 Minutes

Killingworth trail condition report

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.
Below is a preview, click to read the full post

I spent some time today walking the Killi trails with the chainsaw clearing fallen trees and re opening the trails. I managed to walk almost all of the KILLIKAZE loop and have cleared nearly all of the trails on the lower side of the carpark. Whilst most of the trails are now free of blockages, they are not in very good condition. There has been a lot of water erosion and it is very wet underfoot. Some of the creek crossings are still covered in 3 feet of water and have been severely damaged.
