Red Hill

Does anyone know if Red Hill is still open? I was hoping to get up there this weekend but a friend told me that it was closed the last time he went.

What is i spec a/b

Hello everyone!

Question i've had for years now. What is the difference between I Spec A and B?

Ive got the saint brakes and i want to get xtr shifter to replace my sram x7. So i'm just curious which configuration i need. Im running 1x10 so i only need the 10speed right hand. Im pretty sure i can run them both on the same clamp with one of the configurations but not sure which one.

Thanks,

Jono.

NPWS Decide that MTB trails are no longer needed in Northern Sydney.

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

...or so it appears, according to the draft 2015 POM:

http://www.environment.nsw.gov.au/parkmanagement...

Which is quite inconsistent with their 2011 publication regarding MTB:

Update: Apparently the email address to send them to is [email protected], rather than the ones listed below (though why not send them to both...) - thanks Watty

Ourimbah / Awaba rides in the next couple of weeks - Xpost from Newcastle/Hunter

Hey guys, this is a crosspost from Newcastle/Hunter but I like to ride at Ourimbah so thought I'd add it here as well..

I've been overseas for a while but I'm coming back to Newcastle from Tuesday and will be keen to get back into riding... hit me up, I live out near Fletcher but can transport the bike so happy to drive. If anyone is shuttling Ourimbah that would be sick, I'm a bit slow on some of the rocky sections but will try not to hold you up too much Smiling

12 hour question - What are the best trails at Kowen / Sparrow

I've made a last minute call to head down to Kowen/Sparrow tomorrow and I really have no idea what I'm in for.

What are your favourite trails and or loops?

I will be on my XC Dually, but I don't mind a bit of fast flowing descending.

Night ride lights

So with the end of daylight saving time to start thinking whether I can get my fix after the sun goes down. I'm into AM riding, preferring trails with some help from gravity. Any tips on what lights would be required, helmet mounted or bike mounted or both? Any recommendations? Thanks dudes

Rain Rain go away!!

Is there going to be anywhere dry enough this weekend. I know I'm not the only one asking so wonder if there are any trail wizards who may suggest where to go.

Attempted theft - Warringah Mall

Just a heads up - some scumbag tried to pinch my teenage sons trance from bike racks at warringah mall located under the car park ramp near the bus bay (near bing lee). Not the best place to park a bike I know, and he won't be parking it there again - no cameras or passerbys.

Whilst it was a week or so ago just wanted to put it out there.

The scumbags had cut half way thru his bike lock - a good quality plastic coated multi strand cable. I suspect they must have been watching cause he was only gone 15 minutes.

Reported to mall security but I doubt anything will be done.

Kiwarrak conditions?

I'm heading up to near Taree to visit family Thursday/Friday and was wondering whether conditions were fit to ride with all the rain or should we leave the bikes at home?

Fluid Trainers

Hi folks,
After many years avoiding the wind trainer this weather has forced me to dig out the old trusty machine. Unfortunately it's well past its used by date so I'm considering a new one.
All reviews say the Kurt Kinetic is the best but at $500 I'll pass. T7 have a Force Fluid on special - delivered for $213. Anyone used it and care to post their opinions?
FYI I happy to just use the roadie (save the mtb tyres) and prefer as quiet as possible.
Thanks

Hope this wasn't an April Fools joke

Pretty poor taste on Volvo's part if it was but given the date it was published I am sceptical.

Reverb dropper post

I just got a reverb dropper post and there is a little bit of sideways twist movement between the internal and external posts. It's not much maybe about 0.5mm side to side at the saddle nose, but it's enough to notice when ridding. Wondering if this is normal? Or if anyone has had the same issue?

Lost rear light- Manly dam/Honeycomb track

Hi All,

I lost my rear flasher this morning somewhere on Manly Dam or maybe on the honeycomb track linking dreamtime firetrail to seaforth oval. It is/was a Smart lunar R2 light, and from memory had non-rechargeable energizer batteries inside...

If anyone happens to find it please PM me or post up on here so i can make arrangements (hopefully) to collect.

Thanks in advance.

Down the road from Awaba?

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Does anybody have the details (web, phone, hours, anything) for that place just down the road from AWABA which does tree top walks / Ewok village style adventures? It has a little car park with a small coffee shop and a bunch of picnic tables.

I tried asking Google, but turned up nothing.....

2 riders down in separate incidents on Pittwater Rd

This guy sounds like he might have been a mountain biker, judging by the reference to protective gear

Then a few hours later a French tourist is hit nearby by another car

The first sounds extremely serious. Hope he makes it. Sad

Riding in kosciuszko national park

Hi guys
have a small group of people going down to kosciuszko national park for easter, all taking our bikes, and looking at doing some riding and walking, what are your recommendations? None of us have ever been down there, so any advice is welcome!

I've been riding Bendigo for a few days now and it's great, more good single track around here than you can poke a stick at.

Joe's Eco Sealant

Thumbs up to Joe's Eco Sealant, been running it in my tyres for a while now. I managed to pick up four thorns the other day when I accidently ran off a track, It took a little while, about 30 mins all up I'd say, but Joe's sealed all the holes and the tyre is holding air fine.
