Netti Factory Moving Sale
Netti has a moving sale on at the moment. I went Tues, prices I recall: jerseys and shorts $20, knicks (long & short) $30, helmets $50 etc, they had a heap of riding jackets/vests, bibs a few Scott shoes (mainly road but a cple of MTB), camelbak bottles, a few bags. if it is anything like their Syd to Gong sale they bring stock out everyday so not sure what else is on offer. Sale started Tuesday but is ongoing 14/5 3pm to 8pm, 15/5 3pm tp 7pm, 16/5 10-4pm. Unit 39 / 1A Coulson St, Erskineville (Alexandria). Apparently the sale opens to the general public 28 May - 27June. Happy Shopping!
Can you write a brief history of riding on the northern beaches?
So... fancy yourself as a writer or historian??
For a report I'm writing need a paragraph or two (or as many as you can write really) on the history riding on the Northern Beaches. If no-one else can help will just make it up myself, but that would only be based on speculation and hear-say as I've only been here a few years
So ideally would like to hear from someone who rode as a kid years ago, has grown up in the area and seen how changes have come about through that time.
Sorry, should have asked earlier as this is rather urgent and need something by tomorrow arvo at the latest (May 14!).
Please either email me your prose or comment with it here. Any old skool pictures you have will also help immensely. Already found flyers from MWMTB races in the 90s on their @rsebook site
Cheers!
More laws? Yes Please
I saw the link http://ow.ly/6cHT on Twitter about some new laws about to go though in Texas "The Safe Passing Bill" if we could only get something similar here.

NZO Knicks - Size Advice?
Hey, anyone wear these knicks?
http://www.torpedo7.com.au/products/NZSHLN7DD/ti...
What size you wearing. I'm thinking of trying 'em and that large is the way to go, but according to their sizing I'm on the cusp with a medium so... hmmmmm... advice please.

nobmob shuttle trailer?
So... my brother-in-law has a trailer he doesn't want any more - he is currently taking a photo of it (which I am hoping Hero Rob will post for me) but meanwhile, I thought maybe you downhillers may want a trailer to convert and use on your day trips? He wants it to go to a nice home...
Mountain Bike Nickname Generator
Mountain Bike Nickname Generator (good for a rainy day)
Plug your first and last name in, and the Generator will give you your Mountain Bike name.
Do not disagree with the Generator. It knows who you are.

Mine says "der Crankmeister"
What's yours?
hawkeye off the bike for a lot longer
It's been 6 weeks since my crash and shoulder dislocation about halfway between 19th Hole and the kids playground.
It's turned out to be a lot more serious than a simple dislocation. I have what's called a Bankart Lesion and torn rotator cuff. Shoulder reconstruction is required, and I go under the knife next Thursday.
So no cycling/commuting for me for at least another 3 months, and possibly up to 6 months before I return to the trails.
Wish me well. If you're a Christian, remembering me when you talk to the bloke upstairs would be welcome.
Rex Hunt guilty of road rage with a cyclist
I wonder who is to blame here?
"Media identity Rex Hunt has been found guilty of recklessly causing injury over a road rage attack on a cyclist"
Lost Sunglasses
Lost my sunnies at the Dirtworks 100, somewhere around the finish line & presentation area I think.
They were RPJ Aust.Open Sunglasses with grey frame & lenses, If anybody found them I'd love to get them back.
Rotorua NZ trip anyone?
Well I have been thinking that we need to do a NoBMoB trip to NZ for a while now.
Time to see If people are interested in signing up for a great week of riding some of NZ's best single track (over 100km of singletrack 15 mins ride from city centre)
checkout http://www.riderotorua.com/
I have looked into flights to Rotorua and they are around $500 return. I am waiting for a quote from AirNZ about a group booking as well.
I can possibly get a house or two for the week, estimate $150 per head for the week. Plus food and cost of transport estimate $300 including a day of shuttles.
Here is an idea for Rob,
Here is an idea for Rob, when you enter a new blog, have a column for rider # so we can search for other nobmobers

Tooth rescue box availability - Kit to keep in your backpack
I have been investigating what is available in Australia and though fellow MTBkrs would appreciate this info. BTW, I don't work for this company nor do I profit from it's sale - just thought I'd share my research with you.
MTBking can often lead to accidents where a tooth is broken. The chances of it being reimplanted are normally very low. Only 25% of avulsed teeth are successfully reimplanted. This is because the tooth is still 'alive' and can die very quickly before it can be reattached by a dentist.
Vestal Virgin 10hr Entry
Hi - I entered a 2 person team for myself and Jenny for this weekend and neither of us can attend.
As such, there is an entry going begging.
It sounds like lots of fun with prizes on the course 'hidden' around the track!
If anyone is interested in doing this, please pm me, or respond to this.
Cheers,
Anthony
Motionbased Elevation inaccuracy
Dirtworks 100km 2950m elevation gain??? On the day my Garmin gave an elevation gain of under 2000 m (Polar 710 reading 1815m). Have a look at http://trail.motionbased.com/trail/activity/8150081
Anybody else experience these huge anomalies with motionbased?
