Warringah Bike Plan Questionnaire
Warringah Council is currently undertaking a review of its Bike Plan. As a local Warringah resident, your input via this questionnaire will help ensure that the new bike plan responds to the needs of local people and the environment.
The questionnaire is here... think it might help to fill it in if you live/ride in the Warringah area (took me about 10mins):

Carbon Bars and Bar Ends
I currently have a pair of FSA K-Force XC carbon riser bars on my SS and I was looking to add bar ends to assist with climbing and to alternate my hand position. My hands start to hurt on long rides. Unfortunately the little sticker on my bars says no bar ends - damn.
Being a SS I place a fair amount of force on the bars (same for the bar ends) when I climb, so they both need to be strong.
Dirtworks 100km Entry Wanted
Looking for a ticket for the 100km Dirtworks if anyone finds they cannot make it for any reason!!
Port Macquarie trails?
Gidday
Heading up to Port for Easter. Any recommendations on good trails around the city? There seem to be plenty of state and national forests. Looking for trails and a bit of tech rather than just fire road though. Won't have time to get right up to Coffs.
cheers
Matt

Advice wanted- Bike trailer for kids
I was wondering if there were any experts on bike trailers out in Nobland. A mate is looking at getting something that would fit 2 kids and enable him to have a reasonable ride on a bike path or quiet roads. Any ideas on quality products or what to watch out for would be great. He has a Scott Reflex full susser. Thanks Sly
Dirtworks Entry Wanted
Hi everyone - I really need another DW entry. I have one (which I got at the last minute), but my girlf doesnt and we will be travelling together. We havent been in Australia long enough to get our entries in via 'normal' means.
So, if there is anyone having second thoughts, or have had some sort of issue come up, please please make your entry available to me.
Of course, will re-imburse, and also take on all the 'name change' admin.
You'd make a fast little Irish girl very happy over Easter and get a warm glow all over.
Presta Tubes in Schraeder Rims????
Thanks to Uncle Kevin, I just picked up my new CHARGE DUSTER Single Speed for my daily commute. When I went to put my slicks on it last night, I was suprised to see that it used SCHRAEDER VALVES. I recently bought a 10 pack of tubes with PRESTA VALVES, and really don't want to buy any more. Is it safe to use PRESTA VALVES with the larger SCHRAEDER hole? If not, is there anything I can do to make it safer?
Cresent Head/ Kempsey Area

Place your Tee order here
I'm thinking it's time for another tee shirt order as I don't have one any more and was rather jealous of those wearing them on the weekend.
In case you forget, tees look like this:
Only we will have the spelling mistake on the back corrected! Ahem
Price will be $20.30 each (so long as we get at least 20 orders) which is a couple bucks cheaper than last time. Woooooow.
Click on the image for sizing, etc. as per other order.
So... comment here with your order and will set up another running total.
Mont 24 2009 Trail Map (55m 24s)
Here it is in Google Maps
http://maps.google.com.au/maps/ms?hl=en&ie=UTF8&...
Will see if I can put it up on Motionbased later ...
Cheers
Nic

The Mont / Sparrow Hill trails
Was at Mont but not riding in comp - was assisting 2 other teams - 1 kids, 1 normal humans. Did 85km or so on other Sparrow hill trails with some CORC riders I met - very friendly, very helpful.
My proposition is that BobSled run at Sparrow Hill (which the 24hr track used a tiny bit of) is the fastest, smoothest, most adrenalin pumping single track run through trees in Australia.
If there's better I'd like to know where.

Mont Provisional Results
Provisional results are here on Farkin:
http://forums.farkin.net/showpost.php?p=1796610&...
The Mixed Nuts finished second despite a terrible start. Although I believe Steve02 made up for Steve01's mistake there by later posting the 3rd fastest NoBMoB lap with a 50:51 - fantastic effort guys!
Yeah - sorry Steve, only number 3 - Alex did a 49:48 and SupaGav a 50:20. Although I hear the young-un (Alex) has no staying power and was passed by Steve06 later in the day!
NoBMoB Bit Test Icicles also finished second in their category.

Imagine having an off at that speed!
Wow, great 80's music! CLASSIC!!!
No front brake !
Just got back from a ride and have no front brake. Could I have lost all the fluid ? I've got little pressure, the pads still come onto the rotor when the lever is depressed, but the lever goes all the way to grip !
Any suggestions ?

Wheel rebuild - any experience and opinion?
Hello,
I was told at the LBS that if I wanted to do something good for my bike, I should get the wheels rebuild.
My first thought was that I had spent a small fortune on the bike - why should I rebuild the wheels, are they no good?
1- I would like to know what are the reasons? Are the factory wheels so much worse than hand build wheels?
2- If you had your wheels rebuild, did you do that yourself or with which bike shop did you have a good experience? And how much should it cost?
I have DT Swiss 420SL (Specialized Customs).
Thanks
Sascha
