Editing your own User Profile

Is anybody else having problems editing their own profile.

You used to go to My Account and then select the edit tab - well I don't have the edit tab, I don't have any tabs. I just want to correct the spelling of Surly but I can't.

Is this a problem site wide?

Canberra over Easter long weekend?

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

I'm keen to go down to Canberra over the Easter long weekend to ride a Majura Pines (would have to be on Friday because of the Solo 24H the day after) then Sparrow Hill (Saturday) and maybe Stromlo too (Saturday/Sunday), and why not a quick dash at Wingello on the return trip (am I crazy? Eye-wink)

I've never been to ANY of those trails before so I was wondering whether anyone else is planning to go down and we could ride together at a social/exploratory/intermediate pace (this is definitely not DW training).

The Mont: team wanted!!

Hey, I KNOW this is like extreme last minute, but my entire team has just bailed on me for the Mont. Does anyone need a girl to ride? (Willing to pretend to be a guy for the weekend if that's what it takes to ride!)

I'm car-less so I was going to get a lift down with my teammates so I will also need to beg for a lift, if it's not too much to ask.

Anyway if anyone needs a rider PLEASE let me know, I really want to go but am currently stranded in Sydney!

cheers,
Jen.

Does anyone have a rear 12" wheel I could borrow for the Mont - or know where I could buy a 12er rim in Sydney or Canberra?

Have almost all the bits to build my 12er ... except for the rear rim and spokes.

Does anyone have a rear wheel to loan or can recommend a shop that stocks 12er items - I have a DT Swiss hub, but need a rim, spokes and tyre preferably pink..

Twitmob?

Hey Rob
Nobmob twitter?

Ride updates? Trail updates? Site updates? Race updates? Other juicy MTB info etc... What do you reckon?

There's already MTB activity on Twitter, but mainly US/UK tweets.

I'd follow the 'Twitmob' for sure.

Thoughts?

Toilets at the start of the Oaks

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

TTFH posted someplace else (and thought it was worth quoting him):

You may not have noticed, but there aren't any. However, when the station is open, there are toilets on the platform, and mountains trains all have toilets.

"What a strange way to start an email" you may be thinking...

Ourimbah DH

I'm due to hit Ourimbah DH on Sunday.

Does anyone know what the track would be like after all of this rain?

Am I better off leaving it until another time?

Cheers

The Mont: can any one decide where we are going to camp as a group?

There is a map of the camp site on the last newsletter for the Mont, can any one mark out where about we are likely to camp and post it up here? (puter nerds)

It would make it easy to find when we get there tomorrow, especially the ones arriving in the dark friday night.

Tien.

Statistically it was overdue - 8 months without a crash Smiling and now had 2 crashes in 2 days - Sad

The first one is worth mentioning as it might save you from a similar fate...

I was riding the upper part of Duckholes (been there a dozen times before)- the nice rocky / bushy sniggle singletrack, following 2 mates at quite a good click - when suddenly I received a massive blow to the head and was knocked clean of my bike ...finding myselves laying in the bushes, seeing stars and nursing a massive seething pain in my neck from the jolt!

Apologies for using Nobmob as my communication means, however I know there are quite a few NobFarkers or Farker mobs if you will. (uhmmm now I know why it got banned Smiling)

found this when I was logging in this morning ... the banners and whatnot don't cut & paste as nice.

Career in the Cycling World

Hi Guys,

I am looking for any tips or pointers that you guys may have when it come to entering the big bad and underpaid world of the cycling industry. I would like to start off in wholesale, but will look at retail opps, plus I would love to pick up the skills of a mechanic.

I am over qualified, in my early 30's and love cycling.

blondies training ride at her speed

Happily I forgot I have a girls lunch on the 18th so I could only manage to fit in one or two of Tiens fabulous Four Gates ride..
So! I am thinking about on the Sunday (19th) going from Cascades to St Ives Oval to Duck and Centre and back again – anyone fancy doing this with me?
Roid boys need not reply as this will be a Blondie training ride at Blondie speed.
I am quite happy to do this alone as my ipod and I have bonded very nicely.

brake disk/caliper compatibility.

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

i've spent all night getting the epic ready for the mont, swapped the gears over from my enduro in prep for the 24 solo's. stripped everything and put mr new whhels on( xt with xtr rotors) the brakes the rotors are going on are juicy ultimates, now there's a massive problem in that the wheels wont turn as the alu spider in the middle of the rotor which is riveted to the outer steel disk is catching on the tabs of my brake pads. it's late at night so i havn't looked at it properley but it might be a simple adjustment issue. if anyone can shed some light on the issue that would be appreciated.

Sunday Laps?

Anyone feel like a few fast-ish laps of Manly tomorrow? Don't mind riding alone, and this could happen at any time, but if someone were to have the same idea we could make a plan and do our speedy laps together? I need to do quiet some distance so at least 3 (hopefully more) would be useful.

Cheers! Smiling

Finally they write:

durable chainrings

My middle chainring is looking very worn, ( truvativ alloy stylo about 4 months old ) I blame this on the sand and lots of puddles up Red Hill.. anyhow I have ordered a new crankset after a rock attacked my bike and destroyed the large chainring last sunday, while its all apart i was thinking of putting in a more durable middle ring, this brings me to the subject;
Looking around the interweb, I see lots of conflicting info on steel V alloy chainrings, soooo does anyone have a good practical/experienced view on the most durable middle chainring?

thanks

Chain drop from top derailler

G'Day !

Long time reader, first time blogger !

Can anyone suggest why the chain "drops" from the middle front chain ring when I go down "steps" etc.. Depending on the "drop" the chain "falls" to the smaller cog.

Any ideas ?

Cheers, Toddy
