XX - Time to throw away you X.0?
Seems like 10 rear, 2 front is the new 9 rear, 3 front. If you know what I mean? I wish they'd quit it and just get a tiny, lightweight, in-BB gearbox going instead.
According to this, both SRAM and Shimano are going that way.

bike insurance
Does anyone know about a bike insurance or contents insurance that covers bikes ? If you use contents insurance do you have the bike specified? Are you covered while racing? Is the bike covered for replacement value or secondhand value?
Any help or places to try would be great.

City rail will not be operating in the Blue Mountains tomorrow.
NeoGuard
Has anyone tried the following mudguard?

What's up with the site today?
I've posted two pics and they just keep disappearing. Any one else having problems?
What's with the piles of
What's with the piles of rocks at the top of the Wakehurst Parkway entry point.
Is there track works in the mix? Anyone?
Manly Dam
Just got back from a lap of the Dam.
Almost ran into a motocross bike heading anti-clockwise along the single track between the Wakehurst and the Golf course.
I did point out the legalities of his actions but he just took off in a spray of rocks.
I personally like the doughnuts that he left on the Golf Course rock face and the broken rocks on the second step down.
Idiot.......
P.s He was not wearing a helmet or any protective gear.
WWS Yellowmundee???
One week to go and no entries!
Flynny? Anybody know anything? Loved the series, but it's getting difficult.
Chain's - What breaks?
G'Day Folks,
I went for a ride on Tuesday night and broke my chain (8 speed). Basically one end of a side plate pulled off and I was left with two bent plates with the pin still connected to one of them. It may have been due to shifting under power but I can't be sure.
Is this the "normal" way that chains break?
Still wanted: DW Entry
all you guys keep me in mind for a 50 or 100 ticket if anyone pulls out. sorry, just gotta keep my name out there!
yours hopefully,

Wrights Creek road access ?
Does anyone know if it is legal to ride the first big hill (from Wrights Creek road up to the ridge top) other than on race day ?
I thought I read somewhere that it was on private property but not sure if it was my imagination.
I'd love to do the first loop as a training run but obviously only if it's legal, moral and low fat....

Still no plan for SCA access
Last week I sent a mail to SCA asking how they were going with their review of bike access. Yesterday I got the reply:
Dear Robin
Thank you for your query regarding the timeframe for the review of the mountain bike access in the Special Areas.
Time to fight back in traffic...?
Riding thorough heavy city traffic not dangerous enough for you? Try grabbing onto cars for a pull. Still not rough enough?Man, you are sick. Well, you might like this Skitch Aid design concept. It’s like those suction cups you’d use to climb buildings in your imagination, but you use it to grab onto the windows of passing cars to catch a tow downtown. What could possibly go wrong?
Scott Warranty Problems (was Contact details)
GDay,
I am a long time reader of the forum and now a new poster. I was wondering if there was a contact email address to the website?. The reason I ask is I am making a formal complaint to Scott bikes and am wanting to cc as some influential people and sites in on the email to get a point across.
Full stubbie thrown at cyclist's face
Why?
POLICE believe a beer stubbie was full when it was thrown from a passing car and smashed into the face of a cycling Swiss tourist.
...
The 27-year-old tourist, identified as Thomas, lay on the bitumen verge of the Princes Freeway, blood pouring from the split in the flesh beside his nose, knocked senseless by a senseless act.

Just completely unbelievable why anyone would do this.

Ride Hard or Ride Home
Gauging interest for NoBMoB only AMBC Day
Update: OK, it's on June 14 20 @ Ourimbah. Cost will be half price (ie. $80pp).
After the talk in that thread asking about AMBC thought I would have a talk with them about it. Clearly feedback like this is a good thing and I'm pleased someone who sponsors the site is so highly regarded.
I mentioned the level of interest here and asked if we could get a NoBMoB only day going. No worries they say, and if we did this could get a discount thrown in too. Nice!
Beware Ribble Buyers
Hi all,
If you have ordered from Ribble in the last 6 months i suggest you check your credit card statement, it seems as though your credit card details may have been stolen.
I was charged approx $1200 over the weekend (comes up as being charged from CEBU AIR), i ordered from Ribble back in November and December. It seems as though others have had the same problem and Ribble is the common denominator, see here http://www.bicycles.net.au/forums/viewtopic.php?...
I had to cancel my card and get a new one issued.
So check ASAP

Classifieds
It's been a while coming, but in trying to be more organised have added a classifieds section. You know - where you can post for sale & wanted ads. instead of posting them in the forum.
It has a handy status field so come back and change that to 'Sold', 'Found' (if you were looking for something) or 'Withdrawn' - for random change of mind.
As with rides you can tag for the discipline of interest. I put up James' bike rack in multi-discipline for an example (and for a bit of testing) as it would be of interest to most riders.
The old forum will stay in the archives, but no new posts are allowed in there. Might add the ability to add pictures and stuff later, but not for a while.
Enjoy!
