Tentative Planning (MTB)

If you have a pretty much definate plan for a ride then this is not the place for you. You should be creating a ride meeting entry instead, which will appear in the calendar, etc.

This forum is for talking over tentative plans, asking opinions on rides, etc.

Lisdale Sat 23?

Hmmmm, due to this:

And the discussions last weekend, who's up for Lisdale this Sat? The 23rd? 9am meet? Ride for 4 hours? Back home in Sydney by 3pm.

I'd love to go and wonder aimlessly in the forest south of the highway, where there's loads of sniggle allegedly. There's fire trail marked on the map and visible on the sat. This should give some distance, with 1-2 laps of the XC course thrown in for fun.

Takers?

Mini DW Rescheduled

Sorry folk, there was more heavy rain on GNR last night, and probably more to come.

Given the state of the track reports last week think it would be foolish to attempt the trip on the original date.

Have pushed it back 'til end of Jul, please confirm if this is good/bad for you.

Where is it dry!? MarraMarra?

I know there's a planned ride tomorrow morning at the Royal, but it's looking a bit wet down there, with more forecast.

Check out our rainfall graphs. Hmmmm... looks like MarraMarra on Sunday might be a goer. Anyone game? Coba Pt for sure, not sure about Smugglers though, but can do another out and back blast down the firetrail (quiet dull, but good training).

Any takers for a 9am meet Bloodwood Rd? Depending on the rain staying away that is.

Hey guys,

This is my first post.

I am a very keen Mountian Biker (I love nothing more than cleaning my beautiful green Gaint Downhill bike - I wish that I could have afforded a Cannondale but lets not get started on that as I will just get depressed and I want to keep my first post upbeat).

Anyway, I have all the latest gear and am fully equiped for the most radical terrain (helps when you have 8 inches of travel but only weigh about 50kgs) and now I just need to starte venturing beyond the Manly dam loop.

Has anybody done this one before?

Entries open today.

Cheers

Killingworth 8 hour anyone?

It's next week about 80 mins north of here and supposed to be a great track, you can check it out at:

http://www.brightorangeevents.com/

And details of the track are here:

http://www.hmba.asn.au/?q=node/16

We can enter in solo, pairs, threes or fours so if you're keen post up! The race starts at 8 so would be an early start but not quite as gruelling as the dirtworks...

Ta,
Matt.

(Who now has the beast back from those nice guys at gripsport and is raring to give it a good thrashing ;-}(think Basil Fawlty with a tree branch and a mini...))

One glorious winter's morn this plan sounds like a go-er... anyone else keen:

Drive up to Wisemans Ferry, park up at the East ferry, but cycle through town and go across on the West one.

Cycle up St Albans road then turn left and go up the climb to Womerah Range. This was the second climb/loop part of the 100Km Dirtworks this year. Ride this of course and blast down Jacks Track (rather than totter down after 90Ks of slog like last time).

Wonder through St Albans. Depending on the ride style and what people want - stop for a bite at the pub. Hmmm... maybe... hmmmm.

Andersons + Oaks Satdy 26th

Anyone who wants to come along on a training ride to get fitness up for Coffs let me know..was thinking a fling in the Blue Mountains could be fun and haven't done this one for ages.
Could possibly sneak in a look at Narrowneck if anyone is super keen!
This would be a demanding ride, and excellent fun!

Cheers,

Shano

The Oaks ride on June 2nd

Hey there
A group of us (about 5)are planning to go to The Oaks on June 2nd, but none of us have been on the track before. Any advice gratefully received and if anybody wants to join feel free.
Starting times and meeting place TBA - open to suggestions.
Are two laps in a day feasible? We are looking to do 4+ hours riding.
cheers
Mark

BBQ???

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Hi Everyone,

I've noticed that there are a lot of rides and general bike issues being posted. But what about a planning a BBQ so that everyone can meet everyone? I mean most of us generally meet each other every week or every month on a ride and not every ride is suitable for everyone.

Some thoughts:
Have to have a gas BBQ'S (or several!!!) so we can eat
BYO??? or have a kitty????
Near enough to a track so we can have fun as well (Manly Dam, Terry Hills, Narrabeen lakes??)
Far enough ahead so that we can plan ahead. That is no earlier than July
