Meet the Bash: Blue Mountains Early Sunday morning ride: Oaks up and back
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Glenbrook station carpark.
Scheduling this for 7am, I'll be coming by train from Sydney and meet you on the car park. Trying to stay within 4 hours, this is not a very fast speed, but some moderate level of fitness will be required.
Should be a good opportunity to meet the Bash coming down !
Cheers,
Volker

Ourimbah State Forest update for 14 Mar
Rode the XC and DH today. Track is in very good condition, generally firm with very little sand.
There were maybe 5-6 small muddy puddles if you do the full loop or only about 3 if you exit via Short Meadows rather than Long Meadows. The bike only needed a quick wipe to clear the dust.
Do you have more information?
If you've ridden here lately please add a more recent report. This will be useful even if the condition is the same as updates expire after 30 days.
Please do not post comments with such information - post a new update with the link above.

Wanted: Front air-shock
I'm looking for a 120mm travel air front shock for a 26" bike. I'm happy to do a basic service service to get it operational...so obviously not a new one.
Let me know if you have one lying around and your price (not too dear!). Let me know if you know any any good deals going on something like this?
Thanks

Bottom Bracket question. Old for new ?
I think the bottom bracket on my commuter is dying... it creaks like a mofo everytime I put pressure on it. I tried tightening it, it will go quiet for 200m and then it will creak again. It is more than 10 years old on a 13 year old steel hardtail.
It's an Octalink old school type bottom bracket.
My question is, can I put external bottom bracket on this bike ? I have a spare one that I can use, I also have a spare SLX crank that I can use.
What measurements should I look at ?

Group buying deal on MTB skills clinic
Hi All
I'm not normally a fan of group buying deals (groupon, living social etc), I think they're generally stupid and purile, but my good wife sent through this today which is worthwhile. It's a Living Social deal for an all-day beginner MTB skills clinic for $59, looks like its held either at terry Hills or Narabeen and you have till June 19 to use it. I'd say I'm an intermediate level rider but at that price it should be worthwhile even if I just pick up a few decent tips (dropoffs are my bugbear)
