Diadora shoes
Anybody got any experience with Diadora mtb shoes? Wide / narrow? Big / small / average lasts? Durability?
T7 have them on special this week and they have one in a size 50 that might be what I'm looking for to replace my ageing Lake MX101's. I have the Sidi's for when I want to look or feel like a serious rider, but I need something that I can walk about in a bit without feeling like I'm going to roll an ankle or wear out the precious plastic sole.

Mid week Menai ride
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
OPPOSITE THE ENTRANCE TO ANSTO ON THE NEW ILLAWARRA ROAD, LUCAS HEIGHTS.
This week is Tuesday for me (wife deserves a cinema nigh with her girl friends)
You know this ride by now. A bit technical in places, a few pinch climbs here and there and some good flowing sniggle.
Not the ride for a beginner as it can be tricky in places, good lights will be needed and body armour is advised.

Northern beaches fire trail inspections
The RFS has been asked to do some fire trail inspections around the Warringah/Pittwarter RFS district. We are driving down the trails and making notes on their condition (for fire fighting purposes), stuff like low branches/trees, over grown trails, bad signage, areas where the trail needs repair and so on.
This is then passed onto NPWS who either ask the RFS to do the work or will do the work themselves.

Terrey Hills update for 09 May
Settling down nicely. Although there are still a few areas of loose sand on Perimeter + Long, it's no-where near as bad as it was. At least you can get traction on the pinch on Long and get up there again.
Even though it's getting pretty dry, there was the usual unpleasant run-off from behind 210 Kulgoa Crescent
It was a wonderful day for a ride, BTW. Lots of green stuff sprouting where that burn off happened along Perimeter a while back.
Do you have more information?
If you've ridden here lately please add a more recent report. This will be useful even if the condition is the same as updates expire after 30 days.

Issues with Edge500 firmware 2.30?
Annoyingly my Garmin Edge 500 has begun acting up when connecting to the PC's USB port.
I'm not completely sure, but think this might be as a result of updating to the latest version of the firmware (unit software). In fact, checking the last upload that went without trouble was version 2.29 and the unit now has version 2.30 (although - interestingly this is what the unit says it has, the upload I just managed to work using a laptop says 2.29 still - that's a worry!) would say that is the case.

Garmin Edge memory slot cover
Just noticed this morning that the little sealed cover that goes over the map chip slot on the back of my month-old Edge 705 has just gone MIA.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Obviously I need to replace it ASAP, but I'd rather not wait weeks for the Aus distributor to get around to it. Does anyone have any on line sources they'd care to recommend?

near perfect day
rode the ando's and oaks combined today in preperation for capital punishment and all i can say is WOW! ridden them both before seperatley but never in weather like it was today, absolutely perfect, the sun was out, not a cloud in the sky and the air temp was just cool enough to take the overheat off.Started off at around 10 am and was just intent on taking it however it came, this is my longest ride to date, so was testing the water/ticker/lungs to see how i'd get on. verdict? yeah, it went well.
