Second second
Another great race with the Lap Dancers, this time at Yellowmundi. I was keen to have another go at the 8 hour race as at the first round I couldn't really get in the course and I felt I didn't do it justice, struggling with front end grip and the furnace like heat. This one was different and I loved it. I had swapped my igniter for a new Panaracer XC and it made all the difference, I had controllable front wheel slides and I actually didn't have a crash (who'd have thought?)

Karapoti
With rain in Wellington all day and night Friday plus some more Saturday morning, the Karapoti course was a mud pit. I set out to achieve a time of less than 5 hours.
The race begins with a quick dash across the river, which was freezing cold and waist deep due to the rain. I’m glad I didn’t pack my phone so I could take some pictures during the race, the start would have killed it.

W2K
After Rotorua I went to Taupo to ride the W2K track, a ride that Jason who I met at Summer Hill suggested. When I set out I did not plan to do a long ride but it ended up turning into one. Luckily I planned ahead and had extra food and my lights with me.

Rotorua
Took my bike to the Specialized dealer in Rotorua they did a great job, fixing the brakes installing a new rear tyre and adjusting the gears all in under an hour. I had two days of riding in Rotorua, I’m considering going there for another day later this week.
The people in the Rotorua and Taupo region are spoilt, so many great tracks to choose from. The first day in Whakarewarewa I only had two hours to play with, so rode a combination of the lower trails. Found a nice jump, which I did not go over

WWS Round 3
Hey guys, was there any mention today a Yarramundi about where the next round is going to be?
Cheers
Brian

Summer Hill
After driving through the rain all day Saturday and being diverted by a flooded road, I was desperate to put my bike together and get out for a ride. Luckily found a bike shop whilst driving they directed me to Summer Hill, which features a few different single tracks.

The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
End of Wyatt Ave, Belrose - this is on the East side of Garigal National Park.
I thought maybe for a horrible change we could do my least favourite track - would like to do the ride up to the showground and back but not sure about time?

Excellent MTB Skills Clinic
I attended an excellent and well run MTB skills clinic at St Ives Showground yesterday run by Wannaride. Having only been riding for 8 months I thought it time to get some technical tutoring so I signed up for a beginners/intermediate course. I have to say, anyone starting out should seriously consider attending. A thoroughly enjoyable day. Heaps learnt. Instructors were great. Didn't talk down to you, very friendly and explained everything in plain English. They also run advanced clinics too. Just thought someone may be interested in developing their riding skills further.
