Ride Database Entry:
Duck Hole/Terrey Hills Trail

Hello to anyone that is watching.

I wanted to do a fairly fast but social ride through Terrey Hills this Saturday. Starting at Duckholes and Centre, then work back out towards Perimeter and Long trail, and back to the shops. The choice of track will give somone the ability to bail half way through the ride if need be.

Depending on who is coming along, this should take about 3 hours (or maybe 4 if we don't push a particularly fast pace). Total distance travelled will be about 30km.

LED lights from China

Yesterday someone was asking about lights and I stumbled across a great site called candlepower. I started digging and there appear to be a huge number of people doing incredibly detailed reports on LED torches.. One that caught my eye was the JetBeam Jet II

The Rollers

Has anybody used rollers for training and if so how did you like them, I thought they may be good as you still have to keep your balance, so may be less boring. I also wondered if they would be noisy. Torpedo7 has a special on them now.

Allround tyres

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

I used to ride to work with semi slick tyres (Maxxis Overdrives) on my hardtail and these were pretty good in term of weight, rolling resistance, puncture resistance and they held up well on wet and slippery pavement corners.

The problem I have is that I want to ride offroad also eg on the weekends and not have to change tyres all the time and I don't have the money to buy another lightweight wheelset with matching XT disc rotors and cassette so I can have one set with slicks and one with knobblies.

How much land do you need for a 15km track?

So, my dream is to become a millionaire & be able to buy a bit of land to develop into MTB heaven. My question is, how much land would you need to be able to create a continuous 15km XC track?
