Sticking brake issue

Hi all, out on a ride this morning I had my rear brakes decide to stay locked on after descending a steep hill. It took a few minutes of trying to wriggle the pads in the caliper and rotating the wheel back and forth before it finally let go. Any ideas what would be the cause of this? Bike hasn't been ridden much of late, Elixir CR Brakes.

Great day out in the picturesque Wollombi / Yengo Ck valleys. Glorious sunshine. Cool but not too cold. No mud! In fact it was a little dusty riding in traffic. I’d almost forgotten what that was like….

Manly Dam update for 02 Sep

Area:
Manly Dam
Status:
Green/Open

Happy Father's Day.

The rain last night had surprisingly little effect. The track is still "green/open" with the dust now settled down/washed away.

XX1 dinner plates!

A while back there was some talk about the SRAM XX1 1x11 system.

Well - I thought some might be interested that I had my hands on this stuff in the flesh today and man... that cassette is HUGE.

I really don't like the look of this and reckon 2x10 is gonna be a lot better bet for most people (in fact, 3x10 still seems very popular too).

Great day, great race!

Well despite the lack of single track or technical riding, I really enjoyed this race - beautiful location, great atmosphere and a fast pace. The first climb saw us gain about 280m in elevation, and really strung out the riders. It was steeper than I expected, but that suited me as I train on hills a lot. I passed a few people on this section and felt pretty good at the top. Some very fast downhill then on to the second climb which wasn't as steep as the first, but was quite long.

Ideas on suspension setting

Hi all,

I recently put a set of 120mm RS Reba solo air on my bike. On my local trail, lake parra, I don't seem to be using all the travel. Maybe about 100mm. I am fairly lightweight and I don't do any big jumps. Question is should I be getting full travel on every ride? If so, what can I do to achieve this? I am running about 15-20% sag. The pressure to achieve this is already 20 psi less than what is recommended on the fork. Should I go lower pressure to try to get full travel? Other adjustments available are low speed compression and floodgate. Any ideas?

Thanks

Wollombi 75km - 2012

Despite all the talk of how easy this race is, that was tough.

Lined up at the start to hear the riders briefing. No closed roads, stay left and be careful, remember there are sections that have on coming riders etc. The elites didn't go off first in a separate group and everyone just started together. The pace seemed comfortable to start with and then we hit the first hill. I walked a little bit as traction was an issue for me. I also started the race with a sore back and I was just waiting for the panadeine to kick in.
