P.S. That's why I always switch Strava / Garmin to 'private' and still lock up my bike securely.

mid north coast madness
fantastic event, the sun was shining great atmosphere, and the track was awesome, fast and flowing with plenty of features . We had a 4 man team entry ,my nephew Adam ,brother Gary his mate Tony and myself, Adam started the race and got a great start in the top 10,when he came around at the end of lap 1 he was 1st into transition !but the energy burned to achieve this proved to be detrimental later!.We circulated consistently lap for lap into the evening ,then did double laps into the night ,trying to get some sleep in between was difficult as was trying to eat.

Injury cover
Just wondering, if I badly crash off my bike in the middle of the woods… there are going to be costs on:
– special intervention to drag me out from there
– a long ride in an ambulance / or better, a ride in the helicopter
– some hours in the surgical theatre
– few days of bad food at the hospital
– and lots of physio
What does Medicare take or not in all of this?
If I have a Private Health Ins. (and a basic cover) with like NIB, do they cover this?
I guess Medicare or Private Health Ins. will take a minimum responsibilities.

Symmetry in Wingello
A cold day in Wingello left me making my way down to the start with only a few minutes to spare.
I'd changed my entry from the 75km to the 50km during the week after my stack during the convict.

Light recommendations
I'm looking to buy a decent set of lights so I can start doing some trail work in the dark evenings. Anyone recommend anything decent? Budget around $250-$300 ish?

A great day on the bike
Very relieved the weather had dried out to allow the event to be held with the trails at their best. It was however very chilly and the forecast wind worried me a bit - my slight 64 kg build doesn't fare too well in the wind.
With the temperature around 6 C I (like most riders) delayed getting ready till the last minute, I mean how do you "warm up" in these temperatures? So I lined up at the start with no warm up.

Red Hill update for 13 May
I went for a two hour ride up there this arvo and even though there were a few of the usual stubborn puddles around my bike came back relitively clean. I`m am giving this the green light because I had such fantastic ride and I wouldnt want anyone to miss out if I amber`d it due to a few puddles so its an AWSOME GREEN from me.
