When cycling is a pain in the bum

www.smh.com.au/executive-style/fitness/blogs/on-.... The right saddle is something that regularly comes up in discussions (and oh so important!) and this is a pretty good, simple article on the subject. Also mentions Blair Martin and Steve Hogg who I know a number of people have recommended to others on this site. In fact, I have an appointment with Blair lined up shortly.

I thought I would just keep track via screen shots of how I'm going after the races. I missed doing this after the Wombat 100.

After the Capital Punishment I'm in the top ten so for males Smiling

There's also a couple of other nobmobers there Smiling

[Mod. Moved to Sydney (South) as that is where Appin is]

To 29er or not to 29er?

I am going to do some longer adventure races and want (need) a new bike. I have decided i want dual suspension but now the question is do I go for a 26 or 29"er. Im 5'6" and my riding ability is average and prefere Terry Hills type of riding versus the dam (which I do occasionally). I have tried the Fuel ex9, Specialized Cambo, Giant Anthem all 26ers. My preference was the Anthem as I felt comfortable riding it. One very confused purchaser.

Opportunity to help sustain tracks

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Here's an opportunity to help out at your nearest XC race venue - ie Yellomundee Regional Park (it's only 55 minutes from Lindfield, the same time as getting to Ourimbah):

WSMTB is holding a Track Work morning from 8.30am on Saturday 12 May. Meet at the usual gate. Wear long trousers, boots, long sleave shirt. Bring shovel, fire rake, whipper snipper, cutters, wheelbarrow, spade etc. We will be checking the track, clearing edges, AND repairing the entrance driveway with some road base etc.

Followed by BBQ provided by WSMTB and maybe a ride.

Sunday, 6 May, 2012 - 08:30

The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.

Ride Database Entry:
Kiwarrak State Forest

Next to the tip entrance (grassed area) on The Bucketts Way (between Tinonee and Purfleet).

Show on Google maps: Meeting point. Login or register to get directions.

Given that it's (edit: NOT!) Mothers' Day I'm not expecting a great turnout, but company would be welcome for all or part.

I'm looking to do two, hopefully three laps of the XC circuit, if I can remember where all the turns are. Smiling (Anyone got a GPX?)

If that's a fit for you, come and say Hi. I'll be driving a white Commodore with a four-bike roof rack and I'll be on a silver Cannondale with one of them weird half-missing forks Eye-wink

Start time can be negotiated earlier if required - majority rules (so long as it isn't toooo early)

Awaba State Forest update for 02 May

Status:
Green/Open

99.9% dry. Still some big bog holes near the 'vegie patch'. I'm not sure if these bogs will ever dry out...

Help with Rockshox fork

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Hello,

I am looking at buying a set of Rockshox Reba RLTs. One of the adjustments listed on the SRAM website is low speed compression to lock. Therefore I am assuming this is an adjustment for low speed compression however the LBS said there was no low speed compression adjustment on the Reba's, just a threshold adjustment. Can anyone confirm which is correct.
