Beginners Luck
Great fun. Great intro to meeting the wider mtb community. Mark & I tried to find a 3rd team member, but only started with 2. Had a little spill on the 4th lap due to finger strength giving way. Yes- you read that correctly. Changing gears & braking became quite hard during the 4th lap. Will definitely sign up for more future events.
Lane Cove National Park update for 02 Dec
Trails were mostly dry today, with just a few damp areas and puddles. So all good to ride this weekend. I didn't go up the "asteroid belt" (the rocky trail that follows the Lane Cove River upstream from the intersection with Devlins Creek), but that section is probably still a bit wet. Devlins creek track is still closed for bridge works between Pennant Hills Firetrail and Whale Rock.

Mont 24hr - Female team mates needed
We have a bunch of teams entered into the Mont 24hr in March but are missing a few team members. We have a team of 4 and team of 6 (both female teams) that we are trying to complete. You'll be guaranteed to have an awesome time on and off the bike. The Mont course is not technical but it is fun, don't worry if you have not done a race before we will do a recon trip to Kowen before the event to check it out, and practise things like overtaking.....
So any girls out there looking for a team please PM me if you are keen or have any questions.

Terrey Hills update for 01 Dec
Rode it last night. Track from the school, was in relatively good condition, considering the rain. A few boggy sections, generally smooth and fast. Heard the section from Terry Hills shops to the school was very damp and chewed up from horse riders.

Wombat 100 2012

Round 1 of 2012 XCM Series
The Wombat 100 was launched in 2007 and within three years, became one of the premier marathon events in Victoria. After a break in 2011 to allow the event to move back to its preferred month of April - the Wombat 100 is back in 2012!
With assistance from the Wombat Mountain Bike Club, the Wombat 100 features some of the best single track riding in Victoria. The event is staged from the picturesque Cammeray Waters at Woodend, only 60km from central Melbourne and 40 minutes from the airport.
